  1. Vela and Obertan are shit? what the fuck's going on in this thread?
  2. Because we're currently 9th with home form as it currently is, the home form can only get better. On the other hand look at some of the home games that have gone - Wigan, Blackpool, Blackburn, Stoke, Fulham = 2 points. Stating the obvious but we've played games there that we should have got a minimum of 9 points from and we can't play those teams again. West Ham and Wolves are the only obvious home fixtures left that we can look at as "bankers" if anyone dares look at any game in that way. be realistic though, we play better against teams with more quality We have done thus far, but how confident are you that trend will continue? I don't think we can rely on that to keep us in the top half, I think we'll be ok, but not better than 15th. we've played better against more quality teams and repeatedly lost to shite for as long as i can remember.

  4. he was there earlier, but left in the morning. Apparently he'd already been told they got it. nope, he's still not there, apparently
  5. isn't it the people who accept bribes for votes that 'don't help' ? Obviously. But all the accusations etc that got leaked by our own press did not help. If they've been bribed, it wouldn't matter what the press said. bingo
  6. isn't it the people who accept bribes for votes that 'don't help' ?
  7. shola frantically searching the family archives for Qatari relatives
  8. I loved that Putin was refusing to go until they'd been confirmed winners as well
  9. two most expansively funded bids, i.e. the two bids that paid the voting panel off the most. Qatar's got a population of 600,000 for fucks sake, what kind of legacy is that world cup gonna leave exactly.
  10. It was a shit world cup. i'm not sure it's fair to blame the host country for the shitness of the football to be honest
  11. Hope Kev's fit like, him and barton back will make us more of a threat.
  12. i'd be interested to see how he did, he'd certainly be a threat in behind and we've seen him have a few decent efforts on goal.
  13. thought about posting something like this in the chelsea match thread. i think its worth giving routledge a game up front, he's a bit impotent on the wing imo, being inside, he has to beat a man and shoot, rather then beat them and cross.
  14. went out to 7 on betfair, i'd already backed at 2 pre game
  15. you are fucking joking, he's just lost me money
  16. Bassong, is playing with a nose stud in.
  17. Carragher - 'Crouchy, did you fall for that one?'
  18. ok, is bassong playing with a nose stud in!?
  19. spurs raping liverpool on every counter attack like
  20. exactly right, there's a lot to be said for desire, anticipation and a bit of initiative.
  21. this. i'm all for bringing in someone to take his place in the squad but he should be kept on as back up. if we move on every player that isnt good enough for the first 11 we end up with a threadbare bench like we saw today.
  22. Then you must have missed the match tbh mate. what did he do? Had a shot cleared off the line, played some decent crosses, provided width, supported Simpson well, relieved pressure with an out-ball. The width part is the most important for me. i saw him tracking back at one point which i'd applaud. have a read back of what you've posted and ask if there's anything there that you wouldnt expect of him anyway, thats not a particularly good game, its just being on the pitch and not being s***. i saw him put one cross in, on the one occasion where he tried to take cole on. fair enough cole's a hell of a LB but he just doesnt try and get at people in this league which is his biggest problem You've got to be kidding? Ashley Cole is a 'hell of a LB'? He's the best LB in the world, and Routledge provided him with enough problems. He definitely improved the way that we play offensively. and there's a massive difference between being a hell of a left back and the best in the world is there? straw clutching there mate. what problems exactly? standing in front of him for a bit with the ball and then turning and passing inside? that's a full backs dream. i might accept that he 'improved the way we play offensively', i'm assuming you mean over barton? my point is he didnt do anything i would consider above average, for the whole game. You're complaining about him having an 'average' game against the Champions and the best LB in the world because........? i'm not complaining about it. i'm disagreeing with those that are saying he had a particularly good game. because........in my opinion he didnt do anything special. Fair enough, I think your opinion is totally unfair like, but ok. i've got no problem with that whatsoever mate. i just think the reaction to him today is more down to his ineffectiveness (word?) so far this season than to anything out of the ordinary he did today. i'd dearly like him to start providing the service we need but he doesnt seem to have the confidence to take people on, and i'm not just basing that on today's game.
