  1. City just got beat 1-0 by Valencia :-[ First time I've actually been able to see us play for 90 mins this pre-seaon. Held our own in the main, played some nice football but were undone a by a poor backpass. We went: Schmiechel Onuoha Richards Dunne Garrido Johnson Fernandes Elano Ireland Petrov Bianchi Playing Onuoha at RB I assume means that Richards will stay in the middle this season and Corluka will be our new right back. Wouldn't have agreed with that this morning but Richards played well (He's far too powerful for these latin woofters, he'd absolutely piss it in La Liga), looks like some hard work has been done on the training ground. First time I've ever seen Javi Garrido, he looks a decent prospect. Obviously playing against spanish opposition would have helped him, not exactly a baptism of fire but he aquited himself well up against Joaquin. Pretty big, athletic, decent footballer etc. Not a bad start. Gelson and Johnson in the middle, naive as owt. This is the big problem area right now. Alright when we've got it (Johnson smacked the bar from 25) but Valencia passed thru them at will really. We're desperate for a bit of experience in there - preferably not in the form of a washed up no-hoper like Hamann. Fortunate that there are next to no teams in the premiership who will play in the same style as Valencia, or at the same level - Don't enjoy watching us chase shadows. Elano - absolute fucking class. Ball on a string. Only played 45 mins unfortunately as he's behind in terms of fitness having only just turned up but I have high hopes. Geovanni came on for him at HT, he was better than I thought he'd be. Don't really expect much from a free transfer on a 1 year contract but he looks a tidy player (Well, he is Brazillian). This bloke called "Ireland" played in the attacking midfield role. Never seen him before but he looks just like how Steven Ireland would look if he had hair. Probably getting dropped for Bojinov if we keep this system. Petrov looks a good player, quick as owt obviously, unfortunately he doesn't look the best crosser I've ever seen. Not bad when he's stood still...Some absolute beauties...but some absolute mingers served up an all. Price you pay for hitting it while running at pace I guess. Bianchi...meh...he was a bit isolated but I'm not convinced. Hit the bar with a good header but got his studs caught in the turf when he had his best chance...Few nice touches and shit but he doesn't look owt special. Decent game anyway, good to see us playing football again instead of the shambolic attempt at Volleyball attempted by the last muppet. Few teething problems tho, few moves breaking down due to not reading each other and the like, and some hilarious misunderstandings from the new players...playing a 1-2 with Hamann, playing a ball behind the back for Corradi to run onto...lolz Watched the game on a Spanish feed (The commentators pronounced Onuoha "Onwarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" ) but apparently during their coverage the local BBC radio mob reported 3 more signings next week - One of which is a goalkeeper (The only names that have been linked AFAIK are Scott Carson and an Italian fella called Amelia), another of which I presume is Bresciano, and one more mystery man which I hope is Diego...altho its probably not.
  2. I will take a punt that he'll give up football and spend his free time swimming around in a big pile of money.
  3. Some Rag at Sky is taking the piss: Leeds sign Ronaldinho: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11715_2496815,00.html
  4. I bet every fucker in this has Niemi on the bench.
  5. Afonso Alves hasn't turned up for pre-season with Heerenveen. Top scorer in Europe last season I think. He's for the off. Wonder where he's going. In other news, Palermo coach says Mark Bresciano is almost certain to be sold. Heavily linked with City...most of the shitty websites are putting 2+2 together and coming up with "Bresciano set for Manchester City, Palermo confirm" or some such bollox. Another player I don't know but the Aussie members of mancityfans.net are not impressed. And...in other news...Elano gets the hump about not getting the #11 shirt. He's wearing #29 for his debut tomorrow, but there's a story on the official website about its definetly not going to be his number for the new season so no fucker better buy an Elano 29 shirt. In other words, matter of time before Darius Vassell is offski.
  6. He also called Gelson Fernandes "Ferdinand" after one game
  7. He should play, we sent Kasper Schmeichel up there on loan for the 2nd half of last season and they gave him 15 games.
  8. Linked us with Crouch, Zigic, Yakubu, Dragutinovic, Castillo, Chiellini, Santa Cruz, Dyer, Baines, Silvestre, Taiwo, Faye...as well as completely missing the boat on half the players we have signed...
  9. MCFC.co.uk Re; Diego - I read that rumour yesterday. I don't expect to see him in a City shirt any time soon, I think he's out of reach. Altho if he does sign I will eat my own head.
  10. Fat Micah Richards. http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/329/clipboard01zn6.png
  11. Well, the question I am asking myself is, will he be better than anyone else we could get for the same money? I mean, Marlon Harewood would have been better than Corradi and Dickov, but I'd have been fucking fuming if we'd have bought him.
  12. Well, thats not much of a qualification. I'd prefer a cornerflag to Dickov.
  13. http://www.acffiorentina.com/it/Articolo.aspx?Ctn=287770 The Florentine one communicates to have yielded to definitive title the sporty services of the attacker Valerius Bojinov to the Manchester City. I should be happy with this one, right? He sounds like a bit of a dick.
  14. Well, we don't have anyone on the right hand side, and when I saw him for Brazil he played on the right, so there is my guess. Corradi might have scored a few but we've not played owt decent, he' still shite. So do I. Just had a punt on them finishing in the top 6, but not at Tottenham's expense I hope! Our team is shaping up a little like this: Isaksson Richards Corluka Dunne Ball Elano Johnson Fernandes Petrov Bianchi Bojinov(?) Hart, Onuoha, Garrido, Ireland, Mpenza Which looks pretty good on paper. But there's so much new blood, I think we're going to start slowly. Can't see us cracking the top 6.
  15. Frank isn't the silent type. He's a populist. Been giving interviews today. The papers have been generally full of shit tho so its hard to know whats what. Two reasons. 1) Sven thinks theyre all cunts and wont give em owt to work with. 2) We're buying from abroad, miles away from all the papers sources. Pretty hard to string rumours together from that.
  16. Haven't got a fucking clue. I'm sure Sven will be asked if there are more on the way at the press conference for these guys. He's canny as owt but he should say if there are more or not. I'd guess not but there's a month left, who knows. If you're a betting man, get on the Handicaps. City to win the league at +40 or something like that. Buying money. Could also get 1/2 on us to finish above Birmingham
  17. He's the fallback option if Kennedy Barikoglu turns us down.
  18. Including the money recieved for Barton, we've spent 21m net so far. But that doesn't including the fee for Corluka, which is undisclosed (Either 4 or 8.). There's probably going to be another 5 point something disappearing for Bojinov sometime soon. Somewhere in the low 30s now. Or...he's been playing Football Manager to fill the time. I've only heard of two of the players he's signed so far but everyone keeps saying how good they are on FM
  19. MCFC.co.uk http://picsrv.mcfc.co.uk/?fif=/mcfc/img_502_9573.jpg&obj=iip,1.0&wid=150&hei=150&rgn=0,0,0,0&cvt=jpeg
  20. Ya, I know. And we've already got one, but he's suspended for two games...so....you know.
