Rangers are winning 2-0. Cousin scores but the keeping is shite.

Rangers are winning 1-0... This player "Beasley", who seems quite familiar to me for some reason, whips in a great corner, which I find deeply confusing given how he didn't take them at all for us (Pearce preffered the woeful efforts of Barton ) and McCullough heads it in...

Just got caught in the living room eating me tea....had the misfortune of having to sit thru 5:14 of "Manchester" vs Roma...good fucking grief, how do people watch this shite. Clyve Tyldsely, how I hate thee. The whole "They're not going to score 7 again. OR ARE THEY?" routine. "Roma have had a touch". The patronising cunt. And the notion that Roma players are faking injury cos they're scared. FFS. Im watching fucking Rangers.

Big Sam blames defeat on being "too adventurous"
Dr Spectrum replied to Gallowgate End's topic in Football
Or defending. The high back line of the back four was as much to blame for the defeat as the lack of adventure of the midfield and forward line up I would agree. Criminal to play such a high line against Elano the first goal highlighted that. I was referring to the defensive capabilities of the midfield 3. They didn't get anywhere near Elano all day...Butt was a complete non-entity apart from a couple of fouls...didn't even manage to give anyone a proper kicking in the time honoured tradition of his former club. That peanut looking thing on the left was obviously scared of a booking, I thought he was supposed to be agressive...fuck knows what else he has going for him. Did he go to ground once? The non performance of them 2 especially were far more to blame than N'Zogbia's header as Sam seems to have claimed in hindu times post.... As for the high line, well I don't think its suicide playing that high against Elano. Suicide playing that high against anyone. You're asking for trouble playing like that considering the only one of them 4 who looked like he had any pace can't read the game...eg noticing when a pudding bowl headed winger is running past him into 30 yards of space... -

3 defensive midfielders, not one of them got close to Elano's shadow all game. What a fucking player. -
He took them all. Didn't manage a goal himself. And we got one headed goal from a corner last season, despite the presence of Distin, Dunne and Richards amongst others. He's absolutely fucking shocking. Not suprised you don't recall them...corners into the first man tend not to be shown on MoTD.

Other clubs' transfer deadline day discussion

I think Sven has made the most imaginative purchases this window. Most imaginative? Uh huh. Him and his contacts have really turned up some gems...Elano, Bianchi...class...and Garrido for £1.5m...and we didn't even have the courtesy to wear a mask. Robbed em on that one. I'm over the moon with what Sven has turned us into with all these new faces. Sexy as owt. And against all expectations of stodgyiness. I'm just a little spoiled...going into the season all I wanted was survival and entertainment...but the season has started so well I wanted more more more. Ah well. He's got a long way to go. Apparently he was outstanding for Switzerland when they beat Holland last week but whenever I've seen him for City he's looked hot headed. Chasing the ball, giving away silly fouls...and I don't think Geovanni is that good. I think we can do better than both him and Ireland long term if we want to really challenge. -

Meh...we've not bought anyone since that mad day when we bought 4 players in about 20 minutes...was hoping for someone to knock me socks off but c'est la vie...theres no money tree growing in the centre circle at CoMS. Still pretty happy with our team, Isaksson is training again, we're sorted really. Think we could have done with an upgrade on Hamann and I'm not entirely convinced that Ireland is good enough to fire us into UEFA contention but I don't believe there was any urgent need to go out and buy someone. We're sexy enough as it is for now. Could do with GK not related to Dracula, Patrick Vieira Jr and Diego next year tho... -

Corradi going to Parma on loan Boro signing Gary O'Neil for £5m or something rediculous like that. Bizarre signing, he's a nothing player IMO. -
Bentley and Young... and Heskey in the England squad - oh and Lescott
Dr Spectrum replied to Dave's topic in Football
Give over. I think he should have had to wait longer than 2 months to get a game. Maybe not never again, but he should have gone right down the pecking order IMO. Behind Milner at least. -

Deal done? Thought there was a diff in valuation? http://english.psv.nl/web/show/id=58980/contentid=21496 Someone you would like for your special player...? I don't think he's that good meself. I'm still staggered that he ended up playing for Barcelona. -

Reading between the lines, Sven talked to/about Adriano but decided not to pursue it. His attitude must be shit. There's an italian website that quotes Sven as saying something like "We have 25 players, we need to sell not buy. There was contact with Adriano but he won't be coming here". Shame. Would have liked him. Could do with another quality striker, especially one with a bit of pace. Not sure if we're gonna get one tho. I think we can do better than Mpenza altho we'd be in a wierd situation when Bojinov comes back... I wouldn't want 3 good strikers and no good defensive midfielders... We've been "in" for him for months...believe it when I see it... We are trying to sign Suree Sukha tho. Apparently. I'll be fucked if he'll ever get a work permit...or a kick...but thats PR for ya. Danny Mills has gone to Charlton on loan. Thank fuck. Contract up soon, hopefully my poor defenseless eyes will never have to witness him in a City shirt ever again. Arouna Kone gone to Sevilla. -
2-1, Rolandinho knocks in a screamer to win it...never in doubt.
-
Been watching the Brazi....sorry, Manchester City, game on the telly... Winning 1-0, Mpenza... But Rolando Bianchi. How fucking class. I don't know if anyone else has got it on but its proper men against boys stuff with him. I mean, Bristol City aren't that bad and they're giving us a decent game but every time he gets it hes pulling off all these fancy flicks and shit...class. Been impressed with him in the premiership but tonight...Zola jr.

I feel sorry for Niall Quinn. The backing he and his mates have given that cunt, and he's spunked it all on so much shite. I hope he keeps them up tho. He could do with something on his CV so that when Taggart finally fucks off Keane can take his place and spend their money on limited championship/irish shite instead. :giggle: -
Trabelsi is a class player but his legs are hanging off. He played almost all of his football here on the right hand side of midfield due to the presense of Richards but still made a big impact initially. As the season went on we saw less and less of him. I gather he just completely stopped training...not fit enough to play at the top level anymore. Serious knee problems.
