Wouldn't be surprised and wouldn't begrudge it either. From one of the most highly touted teenagers in football to a forgotten man in four years. One of the biggest shames in my time as a fan as far as players not working out.

I get second chances but he's needed that every couple of years for almost two decades now.. It is a shame from a purely footballing perspective because as you say, he's clearly shown he could have something about him as a manager in his two roles so far. But how many second chances does he get until he's just a bellend who's never going to change in spite of an eloquent soundbite from time to time? EDIT: Two fucking decades of Joey Barton. I think these last couple of losses have made the break more palatable for me tbh. If we came out of last night with a win I'd just be hankering for Spurs to roll around. But the fact I have no interest in internationals doesn't help.

Keep thinking back to what I said after the Watford match and think it still rings true. Right now he's still important to us. But if we stay up and kick on like everyone hopes, I can see him becoming expendable very quickly if he doesn't change his way of playing. It could be that with more capable players he begins to trust releasing the ball more often but I don't see it personally. I'm certainly over the idea of trying to use him as an impact sub on his returns from injury, though. Start him or just don't bother.

I can't work out if it's being isolated or if he just doesn't actually think about where he's trying to flick the ball on to. I'm not the sort of person to watch matches back so I could be completely misremembering, but I feel like even when he's got team mates relatively near, he doesn't particularly aim to get the ball to him. I feel like he just thinks 'as long as I get something on it that's my bit done and someone else can worry about getting on the end of it'. That being said, as I've said enough times now, it was still a worthwhile signing just for the extra body up front. I couldn't care less if we punted him for nothing in the summer as long as we're a Premier League side when we do so. I can't reconcile the idea that we would've gotten this many points if we were relying on Dwight Gayle since the turn of the year.

Manq for me. He didn't look great yesterday but I'd still trust him for a full 90 ahead of Krafth. Defensively he may not have been overly troubled (other than being a walking free kick) but offensively, him paired with Almiron was abject. Every attack down the right hand side just stopped dead.

I get the feeling that's Krafth back on the bench now. He's clearly tried to keep it the same while we were on the undefeated streak until the recent heavy run needed rotation. I imagine Manq starts at Spurs and stays there providing he doesn't have a shocker.
