  1. Of course they do. It's a cake walk compared to Rafa and he is reputably a nice guy to the players and easy to get along with. Low expectations. At least those players who prefer Bruce is a good guideline for the incoming manager on who needs replacing first.
  2. Its simple to stop arguing though. Just stop. It would be a very strange world if we all held the same opinions. The problem is people relentlessly repeating their position as if the other person didn't get it. People don't change opinions that easy. As Thomas suggested - breathe in, breathe out. It's times like this I'm thankful that I'm not interesting/interested enough to end up in such arguments.
  3. One thing's for sure is that it sure as hell does fucking suck that we're finally getting rid of Ashley and still can't stop arguing amongst ourselves. The fat fuck will still be pissing himself laughing at us even after he's gone.
  4. With each day that passes and I'm left to stew over it, the more I feel bad for wanting this takeover so much. But I get the strong feeling that'll all be pushed to the back of my mind as soon as the football starts up and we have a manager I can actually get behind. Accept that's not particularly a good thing. Probably doesn't help that I've supported the club from the other end of the country all my life, and in adulthood have maintained that if Ashley ever goes and I have the time/disposable income I'm going to attempt to get a season ticket or if not, at least get up there a few times every season. Getting to SJP and Newcastle in general is still an 'event' for me, so any chance to do so I'll snatch at with both hands. I'll be interested to see what my emotions are if we win a trophy under this new ownership. Can imagine the people coming out of the woodwork to remind us we won it with 'blood money' or whatever, and wonder how much those sorts of comments will dampen it for me. EDIT: Disclaimer following the events of the last few pages that I completely accept I'm a hypocrite.
  5. Seen a few mentions for Merino lately and I don't get it myself. Potential to be a bloody good player obviously. But he didn't want to wait around for his chance at Dortmund, wasn't happy at needing to fight his way back in to our side after injury to the point he wouldn't even give us a second season. Fair enough; his prerogative. But I'd simply be wary at investing any time and energy in him tbh.

    Daryl Murphy

The little bit about Rafa telling him he was welcome to stay the season after promotion was nice. Always thought he could be handy coming off the bench if needed that first season back.
  7. God that thread has gotten me excited to actually make my way up for matches again.
  8. Looking at this guy's timeline and I can't decide if it'd be better if he was taking the p*ss or not. dedication either way. I know who he is. Lived in the same street in Birtley as my mate when I was a kid. He's got a fair few screws loose. He and his family were known as the "smelly Ellys" by neighbours. Fun fact for you there. Fair. Feel a bit bad for being so amused now. The 'tb' every time tickled me. What does TB even mean? Also how long has that shiny headed shitcunt Steve Wraith been verified for? Will twitter just verify anyone these days? I assumed he was going for the old school desperate 'text back'. Think you just submit your own request to be verified and they'll review it. I guess he can point to the amount of weirdos who actually think he's a credible journalist or whatever he's now doing as evidence.

  10. Did I not see somewhere that their match was down for a 3:45 start? They've still not started. Almost half an hour of bullshit. It's not Super Sunday, lads.
  11. Heard she's an Everton fan and hates us mate. Think she's just scared of us overtaking them and reclaiming our rightful spot near the top of the table like Mackamnesty International tbh.

  13. Depends on when the season continues imo. If the season has kicked back off/is kicking back off by the time the sale is complete, let him have the rest of the season. If it completes before the season restarts and their chosen man is available, would you not essentially be giving him a mini pre-season to work with the team by getting him in ASAP?
  14. Something moved fast then? Ties in with reports of a meeting tomorrow Shirley not, the Bald Oracle has already dismissed tomorrow's alleged meeting... Shame nobody has invented any way to have virtual meetings.. no
  15. I don't think it's out of the question. I'd be surprised if there's anywhere near half of of free tickets get renewed at full price. Obviously there's the issue around those have have packed in fairly recently, whether they get first dibs, and how you manage all of that. There'll obviously be a surge in demand, but I think it's difficult to predict how big that will be. Depending on how long this COVID situation drags on for you could have a lot of people, sadly, being in a more difficult position financially, so it could be that there's a reasonable number that can't renew. Will just need to keep an eye I guess. In complete agreement that those who packed in over the course of Ashley's tenure should get first dibs and I hope the club can sort it if/when the time comes.
  16. Do those more knowledgeable think there'd be any hope a southerner who's never had a season ticket would have a chance of getting one if this sale goes through? I always told myself if Ashley leaves and I'm not broke I'd get a one and travel up every other weekend. I don't think I could resist if this actually happens..
  17. I'll never get over the kebab in the training ground car park. Fucking loveable idiot.

    Rafa Benítez

Win at Cardiff and Crumpy's time as an irritating ballbag must surely be up? Until we next lose again.
  19. Just thick. It was the same with Pardew. It was the same old clichés over and over until Pardew Out came along and laid out all the facts for everyone to see. He is thick, but there's more to it than that. He really seemed to have a stick up his arse about Newcastle fans, don't know whether there is some history of getting abuse from the stands, or maybe he didn't get on with Shearer. Just seemed no reason at all to be defending Mike Ashley with lies about putting £50m of his own money. I mean, where did he even get that from? Let's not forget that Humphrey instantly had him on the backfoot by highlighting his business relationship with Sports Direct. He was going to defend Ashley as he always does, but I think it made him even more aggressive with it than usual.
  20. huh not sure what to make of that, on the one hand his club record is poor but on the other he has done way better than anybody could have possibly hoped for or expected when he took the england job in the first place I see nothing but a more high profile version of Coleman to the mackems if that actually happened.
  21. They’re not really “insane” though are they? Considering the lies that have come from the club in the last 11 years. But those previous lies lean much more towards Ashley simply being a cunt stringing the buying party along than them being in cahoots with one another.
