    Football pet hates

I understand where people are coming from with it's in the blood etc. But they're playing football, moving with a high intensity for 90 minutes. That's going to warm you up in itself.
  2. If they bid for Steven Taylor then forget tempting, I'd rip their fucking hands off.
  3. That is the majority of what we classed as our 'winnable' home games out of the window, and I'm starting to feel my 'never take 17th' stance is going to come back and bite me right in the ass.
  4. Can't see how anyone can defend him. He's shown self-control in the recent past. If anything this proves he won't change, he's done well for a while now, and still he has to lash out. Just makes me feel like I'm always going to be watching him thinking 'when this time'. Like someone said a page or 2 ago, can't believe people are attempting to applaud him for going 18 months without this. I like to think someone can control themselves a bit better than that. How bad the punch itself was is irrelevant. He's a smart guy clearly, he knows that stuff like that's going to be highlighted instantly when it's him.
  5. I'd possibly swap him for Bentley. I like Williamson a lot, but in our position that's quite tempting.
  6. A win yesterday would've changed everything. We'd be creating a gap, as it is, one more loss can send us crashing back down into obscurity. And it's worrying.

    Twitter

Caulkins so gay for the mackems and he has a crush on Bent, ridiculously referring to him as his mate. I've never really taken much notice of Caulkin. But what's the deal with him? not long ago I swear it was a Caulkin love-in on here, now everyone hates him and he bums Sunderland, what happened? I thought he was always a fan of north-east teams in general?
  8. what if work commitments get in the way? Manage ya fuckin job better ye....

    Sunderland...

Stupid question really, mate. Of course it'll be the first choice.
  10. Because there is no way that he is currently good enough??? And Johnson is?
  11. I see where you're coming from, we need a player that has a bit of skill, unpredictability, open teams up. Really can't see Vuckic being the one though, he hasn't impressed when I've seen him. Will he really be an improvement on what we're currently doing?
  12. Coudl you imagine their team and style if they done that? Jesus, then I'd start taking them seriously as title contenders.
  13. How many slip ups do we allow? There's a point where a 'slip up' now and then becomes too regular a thing. Everytime he seems on the right track, he goes and fucks himself, as well as the team, over. I was a big advocate in 'I'll judge when I see it', thinking a full on punch seemed a bit of an ott reaciton. Needless to say, it was an absolutely stupid thing to do, and it appears he's always going to have that volatile streak in him. We applauded him for ignoring Henry, but maybe a player's found the right buttons to push, and it's a downhill slope from here? All I know is this incident is going to keep me constantly worrying about whether Barton will ever truly stay away from trouble.
  14. Like I say, felt it at the time too. Compared to who we had and what we've got currently, was worth keeping. Not saying he's a long-term figure, but for this year wouldn't have been terrible back up.
  15. Got a feeling it's pressure too. Not just from the fans though, from themselves too. They seem more comfortable away, underdogs. As soon as they're expected to win they seem to fall to pieces.
  16. I know it's said each season that refereeing is getting worse. But it really does feel it to me this season. Every week you hear about 2 or 3 stupid decisions by PL referees. Maybe they're just being highlighted more, but I don't recall this many before.
  17. The facial expressions just seem so perfect for each body's movement. Great work!
  18. This will be a true test of the man. He's clearly got talent, let's hope this isn't a big blow to him. Saturday off will probably do him good, a nice little break (as long as we don't have to endure Smith). He's new to the club, the league, he's allowed some off days. Or alternatively, anti-virus scan should do the trick.
  19. Felt at the time he would've been worth keeping him on last season. And taking him on this season too.
  20. Like most players from the sounds of it tonight.
  21. More of the same. Daft from Barton, retrospective punishment would be a disgrace from the FA though. Esp. after the De Jong thing. No doubt they'll bend the rules to suit themselves though. Can't say either way if it's a disgrace. It is if the referee includes it in his match report. If he doesn't, that means he didn't see it, which means it can be punished. If it's bad enough to be punished and they do, can't complain at that. Guess we'll find out in a couple of days really.
  22. I want to see this 'punch'. Bet it's no worse than what others do but he gets vilified for it.
