The new £45m training complex that was handed over by the builders this month, plus the new stadium development, work on which starts after the Olympics, are more statements of intent than the appointment of a new manager tbh.
Well not really
The choice of manager has far more impact on the future of your club than a new stadium.
It depends what means more to him. I can see him wanting to come to the Premier League due to its reputation in France as opposed to La Liga/Bundesliga/Serie A, and I'm not convinced that any of the Champions League teams over here will see right back as a priority this season, so really if it's us versus the rest of the clubs on our level I'd imagine our French contingent and prolonged interest would have quite a large sway over his decision.
Of course, if it's all about money the above is redundant.
I think we were our usual selves TBH, unless we suddenly expect England to start playing great football.
You're both wrong, I thought we were just our usual selves.
Can just imagine,
Scout - 'Gafffer, what about Debuchy'
Manchini 'Nah,no good, he's fucking mint going forward'
On the contrary:
Scout - "What about Debuchy"
Mancini - "Nah, he leaves too much space in behind him"
?
Clutching at straws but the fact that he's a bit gung ho for a fullback might put some teams off. Hopefully the French contingent we have might work in our favour as well of course.
