  1. You’d think Rafa would have had the back line watching vids all week. Lunatic decision to dive in.
  2. Palace have won 11 pens, Milivojevic scoring 10. Zara has won six of those.
  3. More surprising that Jermaine Jenas came out and said "Nah, he shouldn't feel like that."
  4. Can see zero points for Burnley beyond the Cardiff match - if Cardiff win that, you'd think they'd be favourites to stay up. They would only need two or three points from Brighton/Fulham/Palace
  5. Considering virtually everyone had Cardiff in 20th spot in the pre season predictions, they’ve done pretty well to still be in with a shout. And you’d have to think the Sala tragedy would be a burden on the players (irrespective of one’s feelings on the club’s conduct).
  6. Yes, noncing and racially bulling a child are different, but this is far from an overreaction - no business can facilitate an ex-employee coming into contact with their victims. It’s standard practice.
  7. That’s it - even if he wasn’t already being jeered, his “celebration” of standing stock still and looking back at the crowd wasn’t antagonistic in the slightest. For his own skipper to come out with that is outrageous. Surely Juve Twitter would have said something in support of Kean? EDIT So, I watched it again, and the commentator says “They’ve been booing his every touch, and now he responds...” by holding his arms out. Not just Bonucci, but Allegri the coach have said he shares the blame (while the Cagliari owner apportioned the kid pretty much all of it). I really can’t dig that, it’s fucking 2019. The same situation in England is virtually unimaginable... right?
  8. You’d think Rafa would get more out of someone like Davide Santon too
  9. There's an awwwwwful lot there that is subject to conjecture and/or impossible to confirm. Like, I appreciate the effort of typing out what you've been told, but critical thinking demands one says "wait, hang on" several times...

  11. There’s no question Ben Arfa is more talented, but whether he’s a more effective player is a very different question.
  12. Someone you can upgrade easily if you are prepared to invest or have good scouting, but I have no confidence we would replace him properly. I think he will stay for another season if Benitez stays, but can't blame him for leaving if Benitez doesn't sign a new contract because he would probably lose his chance of playing for Spain would be over then. If he does leave in the summer along with Benitez then the club is going to be in big trouble in the summer. We have important players that may want to leave, loan players we won't sign to replace and squad players that are not good enough to replace like Joselu. This is what happens when you don't back your manager properly. Reckon there’s a lot to the theory that his future is linked to Rafa’s - my first response to reading that quote was “Rafa’s gone”. Struggling to grasp the ambivalence to the idea of Ayoze leaving - he’s been our best player in 2019, and offers so much to our attack. Find the notion he could be adequately replaced by Almiron or Muto frankly weird.
  13. David Moyes was under-qualified for the job, OGS is beyond that. Pep Guardiola had a year for Barcelona B before taking over Barcelona, but also had 13 years experience as a player at the club. OGS has 11 years experience as a Man Utd player, and managed their reserves for three years. Management wise he's very inexperienced for such a big club, but taking his career as whole into consideration, him as a fit for the club itself is perfect. Hence why I think it'll work out great at Man Utd, but that he'd fail spectacularly at any other current Prem club. Failed in the Premier League, ended up in a lower league for a while, then inexplicably given a job at a big club and did well in his first season. Remind you of anyone? Again, I'm literally saying I don't think he'd be a success at any other PL club Just that I think he's a great fit for Man Utd as they've been so fucked up by Ferguson staying there for decades, that taking the one former player that has built his entire manager persona on things he learnt from Ferguson will likely work out for them. I’m with you - and there is absolutely nothing wrong with drawing parallels to Pep’s development at Barca. They’ve tried to replace Ferguson with a project manager and two “superstar” managers - now they’re trying something different. If they wanted to go back to Ferguson’s culture and all that bullshit, who were the alternatives? How many managers played their football under Ferguson? Or even coached under him (and haven’t proven to be shite)? I think they’ll give him a longer leash than Moyes or van Gaal got, with the board and crowd being much more forgiving.

Who the fuck would have been surprised to learn that? Would people also be surprised to learn that Theresa May is the most hated woman in Britain?

£100m for Sterling? Behave. Yeah, should be more then that. It'll be loads more. He's a starter at one of the best teams in the world, and he's key to their success. He won't go for less than £200m these days. One of the few clubs in the world with absolutely no need to sell any player they don’t want to. Will be curious to see his price in relation to Mbappe’s, as Paris also have no need to sell players (for financial reasons - sporting reasons apply to PSG). Not saying Sterling is as good as Mbappe, but surely they’d be the two most expensive players in the world right now?

Raheem Sterling: England's best player since...?
  17. From BBC Gossip - please let this happen:
  18. Aye. Fair comment that. It's really awful - the clashing stripes, the white trim - and is it just me, or is the blue more like Atalanta than Inter?
  19. With Mike Ashley as May - "Here are my red lines, sign or I'll burn everything."
  20. No mention from either side that the problem seems to be worse at Dean Court because of the proximity of the away fans to the pitch (or so I read somewhere), or that the fans spilled onto the pitch because of surging celebrations (again, second hand reports, but still pertinent)
  21. Definitely worth a look just for "Eusebiology" calling out Pele
