That's not too horrible actually. Nice to see a bold move re. the Ox from Roy.

Beyond me why anyone would watch the coverage, put some music on, make a drink, have a tug; anything's better than that formulaic tripe.

Reckon this group will be decent entertainment, all four sides probably reckon they can get through so we might see a bit more football played.

This the 'in our hands' debate again. Every two teams contesting a final is a fuckin possibility, the end.

Germany and Holland are the two strongest teams for me. Reckon that will be the final.

These are so out of keeping with Tyson's other posts, bizarre but funny.

That was Sartre wasn't it?

If there's one person I thought I could trust with this sort of thing it was Dave. Once I pick up the pieces of this debacle a serious reevaluation will have to occur.

That isn't too bad but there's just no goals in that team at all. Massively reliant on Young and Gerrard breaking forward and even then neither are prolific.

Reo Coker on a free.

Saw a lot of him live when he was at Watford and even then he was a class above everytime he played. He's very creative and chips in with his fair share. If he'd stayed fit this season he would've been in the squad imo. Saw him at Watford and he looked a cut above then but when in the Premiership he hasn't looked a cut above if you like. Just wanted to know if I am missing something and if he's being hyped simply due to the lack of quality in his position. Also when I first saw Wilshere play he stood out immediately as did Chamberlain. Yeah, was a bit disappointed he didn't shine a bit more at Wigan. He strikes me as having a good footballing brain though as he always seems to pick the right option which is rare, and tbf Fergie gave him a good run in the side before he was injured. He's one I'm really looking forward to seeing more of. He's not as good as Wilshere and doesn't have the pace of Ox which why he doesn't really stand out but he's potentially one to link everything together for England as his passing range is excellent.

Francis Jeffers and Boudewijn Zenden.

At the minute we're stuck in a bit of a hard place as we've not got a lot of players in their peak. Only Rooney and Parker I'd say are playing near to their full potential recently. The rest are either talented but inexperienced and/or young, or past their best. You'd like to think we'll be a lot better off in 2014 with Jones, Smalling, Bertrand, Walker, Cleverley, Ox, Wilshere, Sturridge, Welbeck, even Carroll having had 2 extra years of regular football. The biggest problem is there's no emerging holding midfielder looking like breaking through anytime soon, it's such an important position in international football and one we've been found wanting for as long as I've been following football properly.

It's that mentality that saved us, after all. Thought that when reading it as well. Ashley has had a lot of luck to go with the decisions he made though. No way did he foresee Pardew doing so well so quickly, that was reflected in the Pardew's contract last season which had the bonus for avoiding relegation. The decision not to bring in a centre half in January potentially cost us 4th spot imo, plus if either Williamson or Colo got injured we'd have been nowhere near 5th. It's about time we had some fucking luck though, tbf. Liverpool are long overdue getting fucked over, I'd prefer Martinez wasn't a part of it though as he's a good bloke and manager.

van Gaal is the bloke who acted like a cunt when he managed Alkmaar against us in the UEFA cup, wasn't he? The sight of his face annoyed me for a while before I worked it out.

Am I the only one who'd take Holt as 3rd choice? We've got other positions in greater need of strengthening where most of the money available should go imo, but I still think we need someone else in up front. I think we'd be his first choice and if him and his agent play hardball I think we'd get him for a decent price considering his age. It's not like Norwich play constant hoofball and that's all he can perform well in, too. This is assuming Ba stays and we don't need to replace him.
