I think if Pards goes for the one up top tactic which most seem to think he is, Best wouldn't fit that role. He's decent at sniffing out chances in and around the box, but from what I've seen his link up play and awareness aren't good. He's worth keeping as an alternative though, without a doubt.
-
Hopefully he fancies Ramires to fill in for Essien, and also goes for Moutinho.
-
I think he'll end up signing but still leave next summer.
-
Not if he turns out rather good and is a fifth of the price of N'Zogbia, jesus what am i saying, he's an Ashley signing if there ever was one Let's face it, he would be a good little signing as a squad player and someone to replace Routledge. But Lewis McGugan isn't going to be the difference between finishing 10th and finishing 7th, which N'Zogbia is capable of.
-
I'd take him, but can't help but worry he'd be taking up a role someone like N'Zogbia should be filling.

Miroslav Stoch and Diego Lugano. Lugano and Colo at CB.

Still think it's a little too early to judge what is really being planned for the 35m. I'm prepared to wait until the window is over, but it's fair to say if we bring in Neil Taylor and Shane Long then I won't be happy. Clubs know we've had this cash injection and will try to hold us to ransom, that's perhaps why we're hearing these statements that seem to play down an upcoming spending spree. We all know Ashley is hard to read and we have pulled signings out of nowhere before, so I think we should wait to see. I HOPE the money is there and we'll use it to really improve the team when the circumstances are right, but you never know with Ashley. It's a difficult one to judge at the moment. Both 'sides' have a vaild point.

Arsenal fans are in the main, completely clueless. Their opinions are void. I would be pleased with Bendtner but feel he's too similar to Ba, so we'll probably go for Long.
-
Blatant spite behind that from Arsene if it goes through. Like doing the washing up badly so you don't have to do it again. "Well, you wanted me to spend money and to bring in more experienced players; you got it!"
-
I think we're trying to shift Barton first. I'd think he'd be on similar wages to Barton so that seems pretty likely. Would leave us wafer thin in the centre of the park though, especially if Pards goes with the 433 as most seem to suspect.

Shane Long and Neil Taylor it is.

We've got a tough start so I'd start Jonas to begin with and introduce Marveaux slowly. We can't be starting a lot of new players together against the likes of Arsenal and Sunderland, two massive games. For those I'd probably go Krul Simpson Williamson Colo Enrique Barton Tiote Cabaye Jonas Best Ba Then look to bring Ben Arfa off and Marveaux off the bench. /tinhat

Yep, would have both here.

He's obviously got on well enough with everyone and his attitude has been fine or we wouldn't be back in for him, the only thing i worry about is his fight when the going gets tough, never striked me as a player who will get his hands dirty when need be. We're losing those types and with Barton probably leaving we'll only really have Tiote in that mould. It's quite funny seeing the people moaning about this are the same ones who moan that the talent of the squad below the first team is poor. Ireland is exactly the type of player who adds something to the squad, is versatile and will get his fair share of games. If he comes in though, for me that means either Guthrie, Barton or Jonas are on their way out. Hopefully Guthrie.

So signing a couple of midfielders that got relegated now shows more ambition than signing a French international? Cool story. Yes, chomp, btw.

Can't see anything, how much for?
-
Has Bentley gone anywhere yet?
-
Kill.
-
Even though I've not seen him play much, it would be disappointing if he left. It's just a shame really, that him and Krul have come through at the same time.
-
Fucking gutted when I read where it had come from.
-
Got to admit I laughed when they scored. We fully deserve to go out. Pearce + Capello out!
-
Got merked playing 4-4-2 in the first game though. They dominated possession but didn't really look like putting 2 or 3 past us, plus we looked even worse against Ukraine who are nowhere near as good as Spain.
