I feel like we're winning in spite of the system, as weird as that is. Our players and general quality are doing enough but I don't think the teams are set up to get the best out of the collective. The first goal tends to dictate the result too much for me. We're grinding our way there, don't get me wrong and I'm pleased about that, but I'd like to see a bit more variation because it's becoming too easy to play against us when we're at home.

No pace out wide makes it easy to defend against us at times. Would like to see Atsu.

Heard Ozil's wavering about signing a new contract, too. Could be just the man we need.

Obviously easier said then done, but help and support for people with those tendencies needs looking at. A safe place. Great thread. Something has definitely gone for me, I love Rafa and everything he's doing, but I still feel a bit uneasy about our long term future. We still have Ashley, and I really can't see Benitez staying more than 3/4 years for one reason or another. I think he'll want one last crack at a massive job if the opportunity came up. I don't trust Ashley to commit the same resources to attract as good as a manager to replace him. Sounds really negative, I shouldn't be, but while we're still associated with Ashley, and all his previous mistakes, SD scandals etc, I still feel like the core of the club is slightly rotten.

Did this boil down to one's word against another essentially? Hard to think he'll be found guilty on such a basis.
