Confident or not, just keep your trap shut Pardew, it's the usual market stall patter we hear every window. As Dave says, its about the context. Was he asked a question about being confident all our stars would stay? I don't know the answer to that btw. Wahey!
  3. Survival. Would take a cup over top 4 though easy.

So the players should be allowed to miss chances without examination but Pardew has to dominate the opposition for the full 90 minutes. Any endeavor from the opposition cannot be tolerated. Absolutely stunning line of argument. I think if he stays we'll stay up comfortably, but the football will still be without a general pattern and we'll rely on getting the ball to the best players and hoping they do something. I also think we're in major trouble of losing Cabaye, Coloccini and Ben Arfa because in a world cup year they won't want to play under a man who restricts their ability to perform well by not creating a side that's set up with purpose and an attacking game plan.

    Go and manage Millwall pls
  6. Someone just needs to take a yellow and go through the back of Remy early on, there's no way he'll play at full tilt risking injury knowing he's gone in a week's time.
  7. That is precisely what we do with football over here, for better or worse. Part of the popularity of football is the way it has developed from just a sport to a way to channel the tribal culture that still exists.
  8. http://www.nufc.co.uk/page/Club/History/ClubCrest Feel bad now. I really like the Valencia one.
  9. I think the stick the Americans get on here is OTT a lot of the time, but come on man, fucking logo. Crest or badge.
  10. He's not up there with Scholes at his best like. His passing is underrated but he has never been able to run a game like Scholes could. It depends what you define as important in a midfielder, Lampard's goal return means he simply has to be up there for me. Technically Scholes edges it, but a lot of Lampard's attributes such as positioning and timing of runs goes unnoticed a lot of the time because they're not overt and off the ball.
  11. Lampard is up there with Scholes. I think people romanticise Scholes a bit because his peak was about 10 years ago and underrate Lampard because he's still playing.

Cabaye is battling depression, Colo has family issues and wants to be back in Argentina, and Ben Arfa is happy but crocked. Which of those things does a new manager change? I really don't know if anyone of those things are true. What I do know is Cabaye was sold a lie and has been misused since he signed and has looked increasingly unhappy, this has coincided with the abysmal management of Pardew and our subsequent downturn in form. It's not difficult to see the pattern. Cabaye especially has played within himself for the best part of his spell at the club due to Pardew's tactics, if I was him I'd want to leave and I can't blame him if he goes if Pardew remains in charge.

Not to mention the players seem to have given up on him. If he stays I really can't see Cabaye or Coloccini staying, possibly add Ben Arfa to that too. All logical signs point to bringing someone new in.

I think this just perfectly encapsulates the downgrade in expectation Ashley has sought to cultivate. We shouldn't be as accepting of this situation, it's the owner's responsibility to improve the club in every possible way, including making the money available for situations like this, even if it comes from his personal wealth. That's what comes with committing to buying a football club. Football clubs aren't traditional businesses.
  15. Sinclair, Austin, Ince, Lallana and Arouna Kone are all ones I'd like with English league experience, which is something I think we badly lack.
  16. Unfortunately we know how bad we are better than anyone else, and how unlikely it is Pardew will come up with a gameplan to turn it round.
  17. Teams/fans will want to see us go down instead of Wigan, no doubt about it. Wouldn't be surprised if West Ham/QPR come out motivated with the incentive of trying to relegate us. I'm already mentally preparing for the drop now. I suggest everyone else does the same!
  18. We need to be positive, close down collectively all over the pitch, then give the ball to this man. http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/images/photos/002/204/828/hi-res-156835941_crop_exact.jpg?w=650&h=440&q=75
  19. The players have given up on him, that must be the straw that breaks the camel's back. You can't justify another 3 games of that shite.
