  1. The shift in emphasis in the club's buying strategy has to be welcomed for the longer term, aye, but there's no guarantee it will yield us a squad of world class players. And I would bet that the senior players are still coining it in and will be doing so for eons - Newcastle's not the most attractive place for top flight footballers to sign for, so hence we always end up paying out extra wedge to sign 'em and keep 'em here. Patience: not something the average NUFC fan can be accused of having a lot of, really. I mean, people may cite the case that the wait for a meaningful trophy has been that long, the majority of us can't even remember it...and they may equate that with "patience" but honestly, how much "patience" have we shown in recent years? Not a lot, tbh. How many managers have come and gone? How many players have passed through the gates of SJP in both directions? To be blunt, it feels like we've been constantly rebuilding from top to bottom for an entire fucking lifetime. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is heartily sick of waiting and being told that this season will be "a transitional one"
  2. LIAR... LIE YOU STOP no word of a lie. I got it from a very reputable source.
  3. I would invite the following along to a lovely little eveing soiree - Babychams all round: - Cristiano Ronaldo - Roy Keane - Graeme Souness - Daniel Levy - Jimmy Hill And then, having bought the drinks, and settled them all in for the evening...I'd just pop outside and lob a Molotov Cocktail (or fifteen) in through the window.

Obviously lying, the papers know best. When have we ever known newspapers to lie? About anything?

    Alan Smith

He was moved into midfield even at Leeds because he couldn't cut it up front and Leeds signed forwards left, right and centre so they wouldn't have to play him there. Was always average at best other than an early purple patch and now average looks a million miles away. He was a good solid player for Man Utd as well, there fans loved him and it takes a lot for the Mancs to treat him with the respect they did. Ask any Leeds fan to and they were gutted when he left, was a cult hero there and was a class player for them. He was a very very good footballer, but somewhere it's all gone wrong, really feel for the lad, it pisses me off a bit with his laziness, but in a way I can see where it stems from. I seem to recall we were all saying something similar about Nicky Butt a couple of seasons back, before he went off to Brum, and came back refreshed and raring to go...

Was always average at best other than an early purple patch and now average looks a million miles away. He'd be perfect for Rangers. Such a shame, wish we could have had Cuellar off them in exchange. They owe us for what happened with the whole Boumsong shenanigans.
  9. How unusual for you to be saying something like that.
  10. It could have been worse, I could have been born a jock. So could I. But there's worse things than being born a Jock. And (for the record) I was born at Newcastle General.
  11. If this story is true we could see Taylor turning up for training wearing a Sari. Racist.
  12. Reliance Com. Would see us as a very interesting vehicle to develop thier global telcom brand. That's all I'm saying, wouldn't dismiss this out of hand. Not dismissing anything out of hand, mate. Nor am I joining the ranks of other posters who are firmly in the "in denial" camp. This is the reality of where we are now. We are nothing more than a cash cow for rich industrialists and wheeler-dealer barrow-boys on the make...the club is nothing more than a whore pimped out for commercial gain by fat cat greedy wankers so they can get even richer at our expense. This is the realpolitik of top flight football these days.
  13. NUFC is a joke. Everyone hates us. Players won't sign for us. And we're only the 6th best looking fans in the Premiership. Gutted.
  14. Bottom line is that unless and until such a time that Newcastle United becomes a fan-owned cooperative organisation, we will always be at the behest of venture capitalists looking for a quick buck. I wouldn't blame Ashley for wanting to realise his assets now, given the way the economy is going. Newcastle United represents a higher than average risk investment, and it's been good of him to rescue us from the mismanagement of the Shepherd era, but beyond that his involvement has never looked that durable as a longer-term prospect.
  15. Newcastle Football Club and its fans deserve each other. The fans are the most deluded in the premiership having a big fan base does NOT mean you are entitled to win anything. The club is never going to be in the same league as Man UTD, Chelsea, Liverpool or Everton in fact none of your players are fit to lace the boots of any of these teams. newcastle united is a dressed up Wigan at best. And to top it all you are keeping that sicko barton, next thing you will be signing Barry George as an advisor. You stupid stupid newcastle fools. We are sick to death of reading about your disgusting antics of your board players etc in the papers. I probably speak for most people here and wish that next year we are reading that Newcastle have been relegated. You disgust me!! 16. More drama than any episode of Eastenders. I actually believe these stories.
  17. If we'd have sacked Joey Barton we'd have had no end of criticism, I bet they'd have twisted it saying he'd served his time and we were turning our back on him in his hour of need...thereby condemning him to a life of crime or whatever. The sort of journalists writing these headlines are pretty much all simian throwbacks with more faces than Big Ben. Fuck 'em.
  18. We'd be higher if you didn't eat all the fucking pies.
  19. I'm loving this by the way. No sooner should Kingdawson mention it, than it seems we're doing an amazing double swoop for - wait for it - wait for it... Goran Pandev from Lazio Angelo Palombo from Sampdoria No, not really, sorry...
