    Happy Birthday

I hate the Lionel Ritchie lookalike twat. I agree with Baggio wholeheartedly.

    Sad sesh

I may be too nervous to participate. I'm hoping Sunderland can make some decent additions to their squad. I've staked a fair bit of money on it that they'll sign Berbatov in a last minute loan deal.

    Even Owen has price

Owen to Man City is even crazier than Owen to Blackburn. Or Owen to Accrington Stanley.

    Even Owen has price

Owen to Blackburn is more likely, from what I'm hearing from...well, OK, from mates in Blackburn. Would be perfect location for Owen though. What kind of crack are you're mates in Blackburn on ? He writes for a national newspaper, thank you very much. And he posts regularly on a certain Blackburn forum known to certain people around here. Goes by the name of Nicholas. Not got it wrong ONCE yet.

  6. Any bored journos browsing this site for story ideas must just be pissing their pants in glee at the posts in this thread.
  7. Good question. To which I would respond: What about Alan Smith, Nicky Butt or Michael Owen (lusting after a return to Liverpool), Charles N'Zogbia (Arsenal/Spuds)... Yes but Man U want Berbatov, Smith and Butt would never return to Man U as they aren't good enough, Benitez doesn't want Owen but I do think the N'Zogbia situation is similar. Controversial, I know, but I think the majority of players on our squad, being human, have probably at one time or another gone through phases of wishing they were playing for a "bigger" club. It's to be expected. I can see no harm in us taking on Berbatov on loan if it was at all possible, assuming the Man U deal falls by the wayside, and assuming Berbs burnt his bridges with Spuds and Ramos...why not have him up here?

    How the press works

The press are, quite literally, a law unto themselves. They are the single most pernicious, undemocratic force for evil in this country, and they are charlatans to a man (or bitch, in Louise Taylor's case). Unaccountable, agenda-driving, insidious and poisonous. If we kick Capello out on a press-inspired whim, it won't surprise me one bit. They do and have done the same to NUFC for too long. But, what's the answer? Boycott the press - and live in an information vacuum? No. Nobody wants to do it do they?
  11. I'd rather we were hated for being successful rather than loved for being perennial hapless underachievers or, as has been lately, hated & ridiculed in equal measure for being more like a bad daytime soap opera than a Premiership football club.

  13. Looks like he's liable to earn the reputation of being a penalty box diver...something the press will doubtless seize upon ...
  14. I suppose the test will be to see how Jonas deals with the added attentions of various defensive hacks who will now be aware of the real threat he poses to other teams. Feels great, doesn't it though?
  15. Dancehall?! WTF you talkin' 'bout, Toooooooj??
  16. Regarding the OP, can I just say that equaly, should we somehow manage a win at Old Trafford () can we also NOT have endless "OMG!!! WE'RE GAN WIN DA LEAGUE'S!!" That is all.

    Paul Ince

At this point in time, he remains very much an unknown quantity...the Blackburn fans I know all seem to be giving him the benefit of the doubt, but they're pretty much all quite underwhelmed by his appointment.

    Paul Ince

Was Ince appointed as Blackburn manager on the strength of his managerial abilities, or on the strength of his profile/reputation?
  19. Source? It's all spin - both sides are as bad as each other.

What an excellent quotation! Never heard that line before. Aye, it's one of my faves.
