And no hint of a bung*? Wonders will never cease... *Instantly hopes he hasn't spoken too soon
  8. Well, it would seem £17million is the price dictated by the marketplace? Which does, admittedly, seem daft.
  9. Arsenal going into meltdown? No. But surely they must be worried now whether this signals the start of an exodus of biblical proportions. Fabregas to Real next? Wenger for England, I hope.
  10. Perfect reason why we should sell Oba now before the insurance premiums get any more expensive.

  12. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd like him to be successful...I just remain to be convinced. Generally speaking you tend to find that the great managers were fairly mediocre as players.
  13. He'll be shite as a manager. I guarantee he'll be no better (and probably worse) than Stuart Pearce.

    Owen

I would rather him mull it over, agree a 1 year contract extension then stay. None of the big hitters are after him so i don't know why you're holding out hope for someone to come in and pay significant money for him. He won't go anywhere this season. But his price tag will go up. Said this before - he'll use this season as a stepping stone to a big move, at the very least. if anything it will come down as he will have less time left on his deal? Aye, i suppose that might be right. However, personally, i'd rather we didn't sell him off for £11m now. But instead, let him score 20 goals next season and sell him off for £8m. If you catch my drift. Entirely hypothetical, obviously. I think we would be lucky to get £8m. Liverpool got that much when he was at the peak of his hype. Did they sell him after France '98 like. You know what I mean Owen's apparently in the recording studio now laying down vocals on a charity cover version that he's going to release in a few weeks time. Apparently it's a cover of Bros' "I Owe You Nothing". Sweet.
  15. Imagine what we'd have sold them for though...

    Get Well Soon Fred.

Yep, agree with Nut on this one. It would be pretty fucking low of anyone to wish Freddie anything other than a speedy recovery. Get well soon, Fred.
  17. And you would look like a right cunt, hang on you aren't Owen and you still manage it... Subtle as a brick through a plate glass window.
  18. Oh what a super idea for a thread, Melonhead! Nikola Vidic, David Suazo, Rene Gattuso, Phillipe Mexes, Willy Sagnol, Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema for starters. blueyes.gif

    'vested' interests

This is very worrying. It's precisely this sort of conflict of interest that is making my anxious about the deal, and I'd much rather keep Shepherd on as Chairman and have him buy the club outright. That way we can sleep easier at nights, without the worry of the situations you have described ever arising.
  20. Rather apprehensive at the moment. Just want the deal to be sealed, and for there not to be any nasty surprises ahead once Ashley takes over. That's the thing with change: you always want to be sure that the outcome is going to be as near to what you desire as possible, but there's no guarantees that it's going to go that way.
  21. I didn't. I suppose I'm not worthy of being accused by PM.
