Whilst we should still be around the top two, we are in no way majorly better than anyone at the top end of the league. Going to be a battle all the way. Don't agree with this. Only one of the two teams playing today will be challenging for promotion. We were clearly the better side we just need to fix our strike force We can't fix it though, we have 3 really average strikers.

Was expecting a lot more from Ritchie as well so far this season.

Would have taken a point beforehand, need to win on Wednesday. Not a fan of Sels or Diame in this side, Gayle isn't great either, certainly not for the money we spent on him.

Still far from convinced with Sels, have to close your eyes every time the ball goes anywhere near him.

Why persist with Diame and Gayle?

Villa create so many chances in the games I have seen, and this is what most Villa fans say. You would imagine they will eventually start taking them, with the strikers they have at this level. Have a feeling we will struggle in this one.

If Mitrovic plays I would like to see Perez just off him as he always does better with Mitrovic. Drop Diame back in place of colback then we are there. No way would Rafa play a midfield of Shelvey and Diame Shelvey and Hayden then. With Perez off Mitrovic. Good as we can go I reckon Diane and Perez have both been poor so far this season, if either of them are dropped then they can have no complaints. As it is a way from home, I would expect Diame to get the nod.

Happy with no Perez, Diame has been poor for us so far, but think he would be better suited to playing off Mitrovic or Murphy.

Can understand the need to give Murphy a game, but would have been an ideal opportunity for Mitrovic to get more game time, and build his confidence.

Would be surprised if Atsu and Mitrovic didn't start tbh, and can't see Ritchie playing. Where did you hear this team from?

Expecting a scrappy game and performance, considering the likely wholesale changes, we could have the majority of the team playing with each other for the first time.

From listening to the match and reading reports it seems complacency was evident within the players. Despite the disappointing result, the fact that it has happened and can now be addressed should ensure Rafa sorts it out and it doesn't happen again. Hopefully bounce back quickly, although a couple of really difficult games coming up.
