Initial fee of 12m with add-on of 12m if we avoided relegation is what was reported at the time.
-
Noticed he banished Longstaff from Arsenals box during one of our first corners to pick up an Arsenal player lurking on the outside for the counter.
-
Considering the upcoming match against Leicester I wouldn't mind Howe taking a risk and resting most of our first 11. I'd go: Dubs Manq - Lascelles - Botman - Lewis Longstaff - Bruno - Anderson Ritchie - Wood - Fraser If we're winning, sub Botman, Longstaff & Bruno for rest. If we're drawing or losing we have a ton of options to put on to turn the match in our favor.

Their squad is minging. They got Eze and Zaha and two ok CBs. Beyond that it's championship players galore.
-
Reckon Nottingham will be safe. Added quality (& quantity) in the summer, and will only get better the more they play together. Their squad on paper is slightly better than Bournemouth, Southampton and Everton. Maybe even Crystal Palace & Wolves.

I think last season was the main reason why he coped so badly yesterday as he laid the foundations/expectations for his team for yesterday already in the post-match interview last season. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12614929/newcastle-2-0-arsenal-mikel-arteta-admits-his-side-had-nothing-as-granit-xhaka-questions-team-mates Personally hope him and Arsenal don't drop off. If it isn't going to be us, I'd much rather Arsenal win the league than Man City or anyone else in contention.

Exactly, and the moaning from players/pundits have also been understandable as referees aren't able to enforce the rules equally. There will always be a decision during a game this week that contradicts a similar decision that was made last week, so ideally it's handled in a way where you take the matter out of referees hands to deal with.

Agree it's been a good season in general (great for us). Time wasting has been a pet hate of mine for as long as I can remember, so it's not exclusive to this or last season. As previously mentioned, I don't mind us making the most of it as long as it is allowed but I wish more was done to prevent teams in general exploiting time wasting. More added time or stop clock seems the obvious and most fair ways to do it. Another way is to punish players for wasting time - i.e follow the time rules for how long a keeper can hold onto the ball etc, yellow card players kicking ball away or holding onto ball when it's the opposing teams ball to play etc, but I fear that is harder to enforce fairly.
-
Last season, effective playing time dropped to its lowest level in the Premier League since the 2010-11 season, with just 55 minutes and seven seconds of action, on average.
-
Everyone is to blame in part, but you can't claim we weren't the main contributor WC added time or stopping the clock when ball is out of play would easily fix the issue in a more fair way.
-
Although I agree it's good for managers to get experience abroad, SBR isn't really a good example. He had won the FA cup and UEFA cup with Ipswich & managed England before he went abroad so he got to manage top teams abroad because of his experience. He didn't go to a smaller team abroad as a stepping stone to gain experience.
-
Ball being in play for 43 minutes is a disgrace tbh, and I'm fully in support of introducing WC extra time or stopping the clock when ball is out of play. However, as long as it's allowed we need to be as cynical as every other team is allowed to be.

Not one complimentary comment about us from Arteta post match. Burn & Howe almost immediately praising Arsenal.
-
Would be interesting to hear his reasoning for having Wood man mark Zinchenko the last 15 minutes or so, often leaving Bruno as our pressing forward and our shape looking very weird.
-
He was absolutely livid with his team after their last game against us. Not winning today seems to have broken him.
-
They've had easier games than us though. They'll probably win their next game too against Everton, but then they have Man City & Arsenal after that.
-
Why is Wood man marking Zinchenko? We have no striker atm.
-
Took 74 minutes for Schar to bump heads this game. Almost made it!
-
Game over? Never count this team out. That being said, ASM sub painfully obvious. So much space open on Arsenals left side.
-
Watching Popes pre-Arsenal interview reminded me how much I hate parts of interviews where a manager or player is referring to other players with last name/shortened last name ending with -s or -y. "Woodsy", "Tripps" etc. I'd be fine with first name, full last name or if the nick name is based on something "everyone" calls mentioned player f.ex Miggy. Do they refer to each other like that every day in training? It sounds so weird Like a bunch of 19 year olds at a party right after all of them have finished their military service.

No second season syndrome for Brentford. Amazing what Frank & his team has achieved.
-
Don't really know what players we're able to get and not right now, but if I could choose two I thought maybe would be semi-realistic albeit expensive, I'd go for Amrabat & Mudryk to increase our chances of remaining within the top 4.

Noticed Forest is playing their first game with a shirt sponsor. https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/football-news/nottingham-forest-shirt-sponsor-marinakis-7957076 Nice touch.
-
Feels like Arteta is just copying Pep. Zinchenko will tuck into midfield same as Walker for City, leaving more room on the wings on the break. Unless Arteta took special notice of how we played (ASM in particular) against City, there's a good possibility we can exploit them the same way.

Great addition to the physio room together with Isak, Wilson and ASM.
