Ridiculous pen for Brentford. The Brentford player can't even have felt there was contact. Why is it impossible for refs to make a judgement call on stuff like this? Yes there was contact, but obviously not enough to warrant a foul, and it was painfully obvious from the VAR clip that the ref was looking at too.

Merino back would be sex. Biggest mistake of Benitez' tenure here not giving him more game time after he came back from injury. No matter how good form Shelvey & Diame were in at the time, form is temporary. Merinos quality was obvious.

Villa will 100% field the exact same team (bar injuries) and go out to play the exact same way they did against Brentford. Howe will have studied it and knows how to handle them.

At a certain point he was probably one of the players I detested the most at this club. No end product no matter where on the pitch he played, no particularly redeeming qualities in general play besides running around a lot and did some of the most embarrassing dives I've seen from a NUFC player in recent history. What a fucking redemption arc he's had since end of last season. I said it after our pre-season I thought he'd have a good one and have had him in my fantasy team since round 1, but he's exceeded all expectations.
