Have a bet on Brighton, Bournemouth & Villa to win. Fingers crossed they can keep it tight the last couple of minutes
-
It's a very small detail, but if you watch the extended highlight at 02:17 the way he passes the ball with his left foot to get it in a forward direction to Bruno while being pressured is something you rarely if ever see Longstaff do, who would rather have passed the ball back to Lacselles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU19hg90_GA&t=323s&ab_channel=NewcastleUnited

Didn't watch the game. Was the OT on top of the OT fair?

Think it's the eyebrows who makes him have that expression where no matter how happy he his, he got that "but I can never unsee what I saw in 'nam"-look about him.

Every player that has been introduced to our regular defence - Lascelles, Livramento, Krafth, Dummett, Hall - all of them has done well. I don't buy the preference to stick with a settled back 4 any longer, and I doubt Howe does as well. Things change. Fringe and up & coming players has proved themselves - now we just need to rely on Howe to manage game time to avoid another injury nightmare like the one we've been through.
-
We've had 2 and 3 keepers on our bench for at least a month now. It would be extremely harsh on them if we were to bring in a short term replacement for Pope. If we did that, I wouldn't blame either of them if they would try to force themselves out of the club in January. If that is how low they were rated, you've got to ask questions of the management team why we even bothered keeping on Dubravka and extending the contract with Karius.
-
Not necessarily. Depends on when in the season and how many games we're playing. We got Lascelles and Burn coming back soon to step in with Krafth and Dummett as back-up to them. If Schar and Botman was out for the season now then yeah I would hope they would get someone in. At GK we only have one injury though, with three back-ups.
-
Difference being that Dummett and Ritchie aren't the back-up. They are the back-up to the back-up, like Karius and Gillespie.
-
Would be crazy not to buy this lad. Although he'll be good for another couple of seasons, Trippier is playing at this current level at most one more season, probably not even that. Livramento is a close to ready made replacement to phase him out.

I'll raise you Wesley Ngo Baheng

What's the point of having Karius and Gillespie if we NEED to get someone in, in the event that Dubs MAY get injured. Why would they want to be here if they knew they wouldnt even get a chance if the player in front of them was unavailable? Should we just scrap having a squad all together and just buy/loan replacements when needed?
-
Yup. Even if he is medically cleared before the season ends, he won't be fit to start any of the remaining matches anyway.

Watched their play-off game against Luton and was surprised at how tiny and unathletic Sunderlands team was compared to Lutons.
-
Within one minute, actually.

Villa & Liverpool score in 90th minute. Fuck off
-
Too many shoulder bumps with Murphy in training.
-
Bournemouth will be kicking themselves if they don't win this after having so many big chances without a 3rd goal.
-
In danger of being overly arrogant, I really don't see why anyone from a Newcastle perspective would be nervous about this and not look forward to the game. Isak alone is worth more than the entirety of Sunderland AFC put together ffs And we have a manager and team with a mentality that can easily match or better the energy Sunderland will bring in addition to the obvious major gap in quality. Worst case scenario the way I see it is a "brave" Sunderland loss with 1 or 2 goals margin. My prediction is that SOL will be empty with the exception 3000 b&w shirts in the stands by the 70th minute.

Fuck I see Bournemouth in the lead, switch over as I'd like to see Villa lose. They turn it around to 1-2 in 2 minutes Cursed.

Lewis Miley was 10 years old last time we played them. Kinda weird to think that there will be a lot of young fans who's never seen the tyne-wear derby Can't wait for this. Been buzzing ever since it was announced.
-
Struggling to decide which game to watch. Currently have Chelsea - Brighton on. Want to watch Bournemouth - Villa too in the hope Bournemouth wins, but don't think that'll happen whereas a draw between Chelsea - Brighton is more realistic.
-
YES!!! Finally!! Love these games to the point I was hoping they would get promotion last season. Lets fucking crush their souls!

Feeding through balls to Fabio Zamblera and Aaron Spears for fun as we speak.
