Only desperate managers would accept something like that, and it has been Bruce that has been approached by clubs, not the other way around, so why would/should he accept something like that when his services are in demand? Clubs just needs to be better at recruitment.

I think he'll be one of the stand out players for us this season, but in terms of assists & goals I think he'll struggle to get anywhere close to the output he had last season and revert closer to his normal from his previous 7 seasons. My current draft (which will probably change 10 times if not more until season start )

Considering that's where he's played his entire career, I don't see why he would not be happy with playing there.

I think his goals last season is more likely to be a freak run of goals rather than what we can expect from him going forward. The previous 7 seasons the best he has put up is 3 goals in 33 games. His natural game is further back on the pitch.

Of course it's about competition. Pope will probably start, but if Dubravka is doing better than him in training, and does well when he gets a chance at playing I'd be extremely surprised if Dubs didn't get a chance to hold down the spot in the next game. I don't think they've given Pope any guarantees about playing either. That would be silly.

It would be harsh on Schar too tbf In terms of partnership I could see Howe at least trying him with Lascelles too as his strengths compliments Botman more than the others.

Really exciting signing. Can't wait to see him in action. Will be interesting to see how our defence looks like after a few games. Can see arguments for playing him together with Schar, Burn & Lascelles.

I think he's had long term plans beyond his playing career in mind when he came here.

But what shall we do if the new strikers doesn't bed in well and Wilson gets injured? We should look to buy 3 strikers, maybe 4 just to be on the safe side as a bare minimum.
