  1. I think people on the left should be far more open minded to the possibility that many people are simply ignorant when they say stuff, and aren't saying them with hurtful intent. I can't imagine many people that has been involved with professional football their whole life has paid much attention to identity politics. This is as much speculation on my part as the racist claims from Kaiz, but Wilder has, in top football terms at least, lived fairly much under the radar from media and social media. I suspect that comment could be because he's been picked up on some things he's said that may have been offensive to someone, without necessarily knowing that is was.
  2. That was news to me too. Googled "Chris Wilder racist" and first hits, from last month and July last year: "Blades manager became the latest Premier League boss to condemn racist abuse," "Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder wants to see online trolls "dealt with severely" after David McGoldrick was subjected to racist abuse." "Chris Wilder wants ‘severest’ punishment for those who send racist abuse" "Chris Wilder says that unity is vital in the fight against racism, not just in football but everyday life, too. " If he is, it sure isn't blatant!

That’d be too late. It potentially already is. Ashley has not learned from his last two relegations that the mistake wasn't the change in manager, but that the changes were made too late. Since we are where we are I can see why he's sticking with Bruce. Only one person to blame for where we are, as has always been the case. Yet the most noise is still, as every other time, around the manager. Let it all burn.
  4. Live text update see "free kick in own half to Newcastle" as worthy of a mention. Sounds like a great game.
  5. Wtf is up with the ref in the Dortmund match?
  6. Watching Sunderland - Portsmouth during th BVB-Sevilla break. We'll absolutely lose to them if we meet in the championship next season if Bruce is still manager.

The top 4 of that list man
  8. That for a time being he actually looked nowhere near the level of rubbish that Hendrick has for us so far. Admittedly he played a lot more but clearly he had a few good moments in that first season to go with the rubbish. Hendrick has looked consistently horrific ever since that goal against West Ham. I’m genuinely not sure what he’s supposed to be good at. The absolute state of our midfield options. Regarding Matty I’m still mystified what he’s done to be not getting in the squad now, let alone on the pitch. Actually looked like a semi-competent midfielder against some of the best sides then is nowhere to be seen while idiots like Shelvey and Hendrick stink up the place. I fully agree. A few months ago I was saying I'd prefer Hendrick over Colback, but that opinion has slightly changed recently. Knife to throat if I had to pick one over the other right now I'd probably go with Colback I just found it a bit provoking that tino skipped mentioning Colback and Smith entirely and went straight to Fumaca They are definitely worthy of being mentioned when listing worst cm's for the club in recent history.
  9. For however much of a shitbag he is, there are clubs that have had much bigger arseholes owning them, and been run far worse. Wanting the club to tank and burn just to remove Ashley I’ve always found too extreme. I just can’t stomach the idea of us plodding along in the Championship, hoping to scrape a play off place whilst teams ping pong up and down building stronger through parachute payments like WBA, Norwich - but at least we got rid of Ashley. Moment we go down, and if PIF pull out, we leave ourselves with a greater chance of some even bigger scumbag buying us. Bare minimum we should be in PL. End of the day shouldn’t be a case of having to tank just to cause Ashley leaving. Would rather be in PL with Ashley, in strongest position for potential buyers than drop down and take a punt on some American come in a strip us clean. It's been what...7-8 months since PIF pulled out? I haven't paid attention to the takeover thread since July but haven't seen any worthwhile news articles since then that indicates anything serious is still ongoing besides some grasping at straws. I'd easily plod around in the championship and even league 1 for a couple of seasons just for a roll of the dice to get someone with an interest in allowing the club to be as good as it can be. If we end up with an ownership that is worse than Ashley then it will most likely be easier to get the club sold to someone else afterwards anyway so a worse owner than Ashley in the short term might not be worse in the long run. We've had 14 or 15 years of Ashley. We know what the next 15 years will look like with him as owner. Just existing in the PL for the majority of those 15 years without wanting to compete while advertising for SD is not worth it to me.

Everyone we as fans want to keep, and everyone we want out of the club will stay.
  11. Agreed. There's too much focus on Steve Bruce. It was exactly the same under Alan Pardew. We can't count on the solidarity of fans to get him him out. The club needs to burn so it costs Ashley more to own it than to sell at a loss. It's the only way I can see for long term improvement.
  12. Or Operation Top Six enacted. Sorry Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal.
  13. Watching Rosenborg in the champions league back in the 90's looking back at it was kinda magic. It felt like the whole country turned into Rosenborg fans during their matches, and then everyone outside of Trondheim area went back to hating them right afterwards. They were a very good side back then, so it's not the same as a PL winning team ending below a Norwegian team in the CL group today. The eastern european teams back then didn't lose so many players to the bigger leagues either so suspect those teams were better compared to PL teams back then unlike now.
  14. The Liverpool collapse is hilarious. Would love for them to miss out on europe next season completely and see which players they manage to hold onto.
  15. The club needs to burn. Nobody better to facilitate that than Bruce.
  16. Needed either a win to put us in a good position to stay up or lose to put more pressure on Bruce with the hope of getting someone better in. A 0-0 was so predictable.
  17. I hope we make them look like 2010 Barcelona today. With our luck, it'll be a 0-0 or 1-1, Bruce lauded by media for the master mind performance, getting points on the board despite unprecedented injury list which he had no control over whatsoever despite his track record at every club he's ever managed.
  18. With the exception of Darlow and Carroll all of them (unless they had some niggling injuries) would have been starting if it was up to me.
  19. Wouldn't be surprised if it was something like: Dubravka Krafth - Lascelles - Clark - Dummett Hendrick - Shelvey - Hayden - Fraser ------------------Willock-------------- ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- ------------------Joelinton------------ or Dubravka Krafth - Lascelles - Clark - Dummett ------------------Hayden-------------- Hendrick - Shelvey - Willock - Fraser ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- ------------------Joelinton------------
  20. .....and in the following 3 seasons he accumulated 1 goal and 3 assists. 1 of the assists was in the championship, another one in the league cup. I fail to see your point? They are obviously both awful players, but to jump from Hendrick to Fumaca and Billy Askew is quite the leap. We should never forget the awfulness of Cack and Smith
  21. Arguably playing 4 CB's & 4 CM's at the same time. I fucking love the thread title - this will no doubt be a jurasico for the ages.
  22. You must have erased your memory of Cack Jogback and Alan Smith.
  23. Is it irrational to dislike these low sock wankers like McBurnie and Grealish?
