Is Clarke dead or something? Not sure if I've missed something here We've got three healthy CBs and Dummett that can step in as emergency. We're fine.

Or could just be a reflection of current reality: 1. Promising midfielder sold back to Spain. 2. Promising winger signed on loan. 3. Midfielder signed on free transfer. 4. Rafa not signing a contract extension. Obviously when we make two signings for £40m+ the mood will lift considerably.... 5. Another promising midfielder putting a request to leave in. 6. Being linked with West Brom strikers who some, rightly or wrongly, deem no better than what we already have 7. The manager, only person at the club we really trust, having to tell fans that we're wheeling and dealing 8. Dubravka

That's pretty depressing reading
-
Ismaila Sarr, had an absolutely class tournament like, only 20. Move along, nothing to see here
-
Steve Bruce getting a new contract stll beats it for me like
-
Finally in the green after having to spend money on Dubravka.

Ugh..that one hurt. What a player we missed out on.

Lots of things are done by "professionals" that anyone with time and motivation can do just as easily. Look at the video SAFC posted on their twitter. Not rocket science by the looks of it. I know no other pro club uses fans to fit their stadium, but so the fuck what? God forbid someone thinks outside of the box Regardless of motive, I think it was a good idea. If we're speculating, maybe a lot of those people that helped out know the owner might have taken the piss, but decided to do it anyway as it isn't about him for them, but for the club and the fans?

Its volunteered work. Nobody had to help out but they chose to. If nobody had shown up, the club would have had to sort it out by other means or not at all. Alternatively man with millions and millions of pounds, has conned a ton of people into working for him for free. To do a job that actually only professionals should do, and you wouldn’t even see at conference level. Maybe if he loved the community he could have employed a local firm to do it? You know put some money into the local economy. Instead he’s fucked off on holiday I think its more complicated to assemble a flat pack from Ikea than change a fucking seat. Professionals needed Usually it is local businesses that support the local football club, not the other way around btw. Yes it is different. These people have volunteered to help their local club, not a business with no connection to the area. I think a lot of you are overly cynical of this and making it out to be way worse than it is. Im not saying I think their owner is good guy or anything, just before anyone jumps further on those kinds of assumptions. It's just in this particular instance I don't understand your opinions.

I know there's plenty of ways to get fans involved but most of those ways are very superficial. Here the fans can make an actual contribution. Yes its small time, but is small time necessarily a bad thing? I'd like more clubs to operate more small time instead of the de-personalized corporations they are now. Many on here complain about being disillusioned by the way football is these days, yet laugh at this. I just don't get it, sorry
-
Maybe its just a cultural difference, but my feeling is that the laughing at volunteer work is pretty arrogant.
-
I still don't get why this is laughed at so much or why H&S should be of any concern when its voluntary work. For those that have volunteered it is giving them the opportunity to do something productive for what they believe is a good cause and builds a closer relationship between them and the club. "It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city" - some people just ignore the business side of things in football and enjoy it for what it is, and if they can give the club they love and their fellow supporters a nicer and better place to watch their team I bet they are proud to be able to be part of that and its a win win for the club itself. More clubs, even at higher levels, should look to do similar things imo.

If the £22m fee is correct, that's pretty heart breaking in terms of any hope that Rafa might sign on for further torture. Edit: Fair enough if the player preferred Gladbach. If he doesn't want to come here, I don't want him either. Move on.

Ya. Good to know that no matter what, he's history in 10 months no matter how much he tries to wriggle and squirm.
-
Is this the last year/season of his contract?

Matt Ritchie (now Technical Director at Bournemouth)

If Mo maintains the form he had second half of the season and its the new "standard" we will get from him, we have another two seaons or so until age will start catching up to him. That is enough time to find a replacement for him. Too long for Merino to sit and wait for a break through. That is a big if imo, as I am still not confident that what we saw from Mo end of last season is what we will get from him consistently from now on, but if it is, we are doing the right thing bringing in Ki to fight for a place without getting unhappy about playing time while we will have time to find the best possible replacement and focus on more important positions this summer.

Willian is 29? The fuck?? I was thinking 25-26. So weird how some players age really slow and others really fast in my head lately.
-
It's a decent price for Townsend IMO, could be an England player again under Rafa. He means Matt Ritchie. Townsend is only 26. the fuck I thought Townsend was a "late bloomer" and expected him to be around 29 now. All of a sudden im way more positive to him coming back even though it was a really stupid decision of him to stay in the PL when we went down.
