  1. Apparently Arshavin is now "desperate" to move to Tottenham. He must have a weak heart being so desperate all the time. http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,16368,2483_3894921,00.html Lachter admits that Arshavin was not that keen on Spurs when their interest first transpired but he is now just waiting to seal the move. Arshavin has always said he would prefer to join Barcelona, but Lachter admits that his charge was won over by Spurs and particularly coach Juande Ramos. "Andrei is ready to move to Tottenham, now it just depends on Zenit," Lachter told Sovietsky Sport. "Arshavin changed his decision [about joining Spurs] due to excellent interest from Spurs. "They are the one team that fully agreed his contract demands and ready to pay almost the full price that Zenit wants. "Juande Ramos called Andrei and described his vision of football and his vision of Andrei's future in the team. "Ramos said that Arshavin will be a key player of his team and he is highly interested in this deal. "Spurs had the money for Andrei all the time and their interest isn't new. But Zenit doesn't want to say that they have official offer from Tottenham. But they have it." Reports in Russia suggest Zenit want to keep Arshavin for the European Super Cup clash with Manchester United on August 29 in Monaco. But Lachter says Arshavin does not want the deal to be delayed until the end of the month. "I don't think the deal can be delayed until the Super Cup against Manchester United because I'm unsure that today's Arshavin can be useful for Zenit. "I hope that Zenit will collect themselves. I know the high level of professionalism of Zenit's new president [Alexander] Dukov and his great personality." Zenit sporting director Konstantin Sarsaniya admits that an agreement could be close to being finalised with Spurs. "We have certain contacts with Tottenham, but when they will conclude, I still do not know," Sarsaniya told Sports.ru. "Maybe within five days, maybe sooner, maybe later. "Tottenham have an interest in the player, and I understand that the player has an interest in the club too."
  2. Osama wouldn't like that being an Arsenal fan and all....
  3. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/euro_2008/7461166.stm Don't know if this has been posted yet, but oh, the sweet irony
  4. My Englishknowledge strikes once again When im saying fitting in with the teammates, I maybe should have said If a player is good, he will make it no matter where he plays as long as he fits in with the team, and the way they play, if that makes more sense to you GeJon.
  5. Screw PL experience. I think it's a load of bullshit. If a player is good, he will make it no matter where he plays as long as he fits in with his teammates. Choosing PL experience instead of potentially better players is a route I really don't like. I think it's a cowards way. It's safe, you know what you get (even though that might not be good enough), and you pay way over the odds. Let's get some exciting players in. Some may not make it, but there will be players who do, and that is worth much more than all of the average Joe's that we call Crouch, Kapo, Riise etc.

    Todays Rumours....

"John Arne Riise is ready to snub a move to Newcastle for the lure of Champions League football next season with Schalke emerging as favourites to sign him. (News of the World)" PLEASE BE TRUE!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!
  7. Does it really matter if we have seen him play? Im all in for taking a gamble on him instead of taking the safe mediocre route of the much overhyped "PL experience" way.
  8. Barnes, Zarate, Shorey, Muamba -could- all be more than useful players for us.
  9. WTF!? My name would be: Bson You can't even pronounce that...Have to say im dissapointed.

    The Wage Bill

Don't forget Luque(60k?), Babayaro(25k?), Bramble(25k?), Sibierski(15k?) and Solano(30k?) who must have been on pretty big wages. Personally I think it sounds strange that the wage bill actually got higher. After the summer I thought it had went down tbh.
  11. Not actually. The £18m was supposed to be paid up over three seasons, so that would £6m out of a £20m budget. That's right like. However, does that mean we've potentially got £70M to spend as far as entire transfer fees are concerned if we structure all the deals like that? "Nobody knows" is the only answer to that, though, it's all just speculation. EDIT: But if the Sun is right (ha) it does mean that we were either going to blow the entire budget on Modric or that we have got upwards of £60M to spend in total transfer fees? Does anyone really think either of those is true? Over the course of three seasons, no doubt.
  12. What a crappy team 1977 Dropping three of our best players (Owen, Beye, Faye) for Martins, Chimbonda and Hangeland is madness. Riise for Enrique is like Roeder dropping N'Zogbia for Duff. Let's try and do the right thing for one times sake.

  14. I know, and im sorry. I know im irrational here, but I can't help it. I hate him, his dumb as f*** mother and retart wannabe-John-Arne brother. Wanting him to break his legs in 3 places?!?! Your one of these radical internet users that makes the opinions of people who use the internet worthless. something happend here...obviously i was answering to the "Wanting him to break his legs in 3 places?!?! Your one of these radical internet users that makes the opinions of people who use the internet worthless."
  15. If we sign Riise I hope he breaks his left leg in three different places in his first pre-season match. I know it's petty to hope for such things, but the thought of him playing for us is so agonisingly painful that I just can't help myself. Really can't stand the guy, and don't really rate him at all.

    Uefa Cup Semis

Hows Arshavin doing? Could that Tymochuck be a potential replacement for Butt?
  17. I've got a mate who supports Dortmund who waxes lyrical about him n all. Sounds like a certain Hugo Viana.
  18. FFS, fuck me sideways! Will the Riise link just stop already? I get so nervous everytime his name is mentioned. i wouldn't touch him with a broomstick. Maybe slap him with it a few times if needed, but that's all. When that's said, another thing bugging me is why left back is such a big issue. We only have one real right back as well, and he is getting on age wise as well. Why isn't another right back as big a issue as left back? Personally, I don't think fb is a big priority position.
  19. http://www.vg.no/nyheter/innenriks/artikkel.php?artid=519359 A norwegian liverpool supporter went mad when Dirk Kuyt scored. He jumped up and grabbed a beam on the roof just by the outdoor serving and startet to swing from it. "Unfortunatley" his hand slipped, and he took a nice nosedive 2 meters straight into the concrete and had to be taken to the hospital with an ambulance immediatley. The article finishes with: "At least he didn't have to see the second half..."
  20. Would Ginola be a high enough profile to play himself?
