Sentimental/nostalgic memories. I think what Howe has achieved is probably harder to achieve today than what Keegan did in his time in terms of what is required 0f training and tactics. That being said, not sure Howe would be able to achieve what Keegan did in his time either. Both legends. Don't like the thought of having to rate one over the other.

Have to admit pre-match I was expecting another dull 0-0/1-0/0-1. Once the game started, I can't remember last game I saw where I felt as comfortable as this one. Was never at any stage in doubt that we would win. Still ended watching the game thinking Palace were awful, but safe to say I've thought that so many times now since Howe came here that it's not a coincidence anymore. We got some great personalities in our squad who are humble, hard working and willing to buy into the philosophy of our world class manager/coaching team. So important that we target player personalities that are compatible with the same mindset as our current squad. Bonus points for the Tonali support from the fans.

Rodri for me is the best player in the league. Don't understand why nobody has tried to have a dedicated player with high stamina just stick to him like glue for 90 minutes. No surprise Phillips isn't getting a lot of playing time.

I think he's going to need a bit of time to get up to speed. Don't think we'll see much more than glimpses of the same player we had last season until January/February.
-
Does he need to "recapture" his career? Haven't really heard anything about him not performing in games he's played. Only been limited appearances due to cheat code Rodri.

More entertaining than watching the best generation of Norwegian footballers ever being sent out to play like Stoke on anaesthetics.

Solbakken given a get out of jail free card with that goal being disallowed after fielding a 33 year old Strandberg playing his trade in the bottom half of Norwegian top division ahead of Kristoffer Ajer. Southgate ain't got shit on Solbakken when it comes to playing his old favorites over better players

Turns 24 in 3 months. Not even close to a "bairn". He is at the start of his peak years. Would love him here.

I've got no doubt we'll be looking for players, but whether we sign any depends entirely on injuries and who becomes available is my best guess.

And a bus drive from Newcastle to Manchester.

Have you read the thread? Hardly any criticism of his blunder yesterday, main focus of criticism is his feet, but everyone also acknowledging that he's a good keeper that they like.

It's not so much his kicking as his first touch and passing that annoys me. Our defenders are reluctant to pass to him to alleviate opponents high pressing, and when he does get a pass back he's a nervous wreck when he receives the ball, usually with a lot of time, but spends so much time controlling the ball and getting into a position to pass it that he ends up being under pressure and has to boot the ball away. We lose possession so many times each game due to this. It's honestly baffling, even for a keeper, to be so bad at controlling the ball after playing football for what must be at least 25 years In this aspect I can't think of one regularly starting keeper in the league as bad as him. In every other aspect he is very good, and I doubt we'd be able to find a keeper as good at anything other than the above, so the question is if it's worth it. I think it maybe is, as it's crucial to counter a high press in todays game, and would indirectly lead to fewer interactions needed by our keeper by not giving the ball away so often...but I'm not sure. I'll probably complain about Popes fault from time to time, but I'm in no rush to replace him, same as I am with our team in general right now.

A lot of entertainment at the top of the league. Will probably one of the worst seasons ever at the bottom of the table.

People still have time to think as they type. Dread to think what some on here say to others in real life when they have to react to things in a split second.

Only 2, to be fair. 3 of them praising West Ham players
-
Brings more the our midfield than you do signing up 40 minutes ago to this board just to criticize Tonali
-
Anderson was way out of position, forcing Bruno to go wide which left the middle open and then Tonali shirking away from the shot. Impossible to just blame one person for that goal. Draw probably fair result for the neutral viewer at least.

Crap. So much went wrong there.

Don't forget to push Schar up to DM

I mean, most likely it's a goal anyway whether Pope rushes out or stays put, but we'd have a hell of a bigger chance of keeping West Ham out if he doesn't mistime that ball and just stays between the posts.
