  1. Looks like we've given uo on Lazaar after one game. No idea why Colback starts ahead of Hayden when he played on Wed and was downright awful by the sounds of it. Diame in the team too, I'm starting to question some of these selections by Rafa, doesn't make sense to me.
  2. Don't like this line up at all, not sure what Diame has to do to be dropped.
  3. Alan Stubbs doesn't applaud the fans at the end of the game because it's not his style according to the commentator, lol

I must admit I didn't actually watch the video Just saw the title, and it's very misleading he's not promoting the likes over PArdew or Howe over Wenger and Ponc... like it's suggesting he's promoting the need to keep old English players in the game, which is fair enough although I really don't care if Lampard or Gerard are going to have an easier time to get their coaching badges !!

Seriously Shearer needs to STFU with crap like this, it's how we ended up with the last two buffoons in charge of the team: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37529829

TBF 43,000 is a great number considering the crap they'll be subjected to come match day. Problem is people compare them to us, and they will never win that battle unless the are suddenly challenging for champions league and we are fighting to stay in the Championship. Compared to other clubs in the PL it's very favourable.
  7. So if it's on Bein Sports Australia, can we assume it's on Bein sports North America ? Don't make have to trawl through that awful TV guide of theirs. Is on being connect 4 Hehe autocorrect love it, thanks man.

  9. One thing I learned last night, idiots like me shouldn't question Rafa, have faith and trust the man who's forgotten more about the game than I will ever know. He'll know how to fix the issues we've had over the first 10 games (and we have had some, it would be wrong to say we haven't). Got to trust him.
  10. Whatever you think about his similarities to Sissoko, the fact is he was brought in to replace the man. I know Sissoko was still here when we purchased Diame, but it was clear Sissoko would go and Diame was seen as the replacement. Therefore you have to compare the two and to be frank from what I've seen of Diame, he's not fit to tie Sissoko's laces or Gini's for that matter. It's leaving a hole in our team right now, the simple solution is to go with two up top.

If you read through their match thread, they were making fun of us for having "52,000 screaming Geordies with 500,000 locked out", not sure how that is supposed to be an insult when we pull in 48k for a midweek championship game ! Half the crowd left according to them when Norwich's third goal went in, the source for this information was the Sky Sports news guy they had there. Since someone posted the whole coverage on sky on youtube I saw what he actually said was this after we scored our 2nd "If there were any home fans leaving, they will have returned to their seats because Newcastle are right back in this". Of course they say all this from their ivory towers where they fill their ground every week and no one ever leaves until the last whistle is blown. The exodus from the Everton game was just embarrassing to watch on TV.
  12. After 10 games 19 points, easy maths that's 1.9 points a game, which equates to 87.4 points for the season. That's been good enough in the past for 2nd spot but I think we need to target 90 points to be sure, especially this season where there are a few teams who could amass 90 plus. The real positive is the fixture list, as other have eluded too. We've played 3 teams in the bottom half of the table Villa, QPR and Derby, the other 7 are in the top. All three of those in the bottom half were expected to be much higher at the end. Going on a long winning run like we did after the 2 early losses would make it very hard for the other clubs now.

  15. He needs to be given more game time, strikers need that match sharpness and we are just a better team with him in it.
  16. Ando and Fatso definitely coloured the misses out to be a lot worse than they were, they were not as bad as the one on one he missed at Villa, nowhere near.
  17. He's the weak link for me. If you are just going to play with one striker in this division, the man sitting in the 10 role needs to be better than this guy. We were told by everyone how great he was for Hull last year, perhaps this is just a bad run of form but I just don't see a player there at all, think the stage maybe a little too big for him too. Needs to be dropped, go to two up top, bring him on when we are in control of a game and hope a goal goes in of his arse or something perhaps that'll get his confidence back.
  18. I totally agree but right now he's a vital part of our squad, we look light in the middle of midfield, Rafa's protecting Hayden by not playing him every game, he has no other option for Shelvey, so he must start. As much as we can make the case for being short a goalscorer (although Gayle's performance tonight may have put that one to bed for now). The centre mid is where we are light in terms of numbers and quality outside our first choice pairing. I'm not too familiar with Alan Judge but obviously we had an interest there and may revive it in Jan, but he could be the player we need (much in the Routledge mould during our last Championship campaign) if he can play in there or replace the gawd awful Diame.
  19. OK I've watched the highlights about 50 times now Ritchie does brilliantly for the the first goal. Dummet's skill and cross for the Ritchie header against the bar was something else. The more and more I look at the penalty, the less it looks like one to me. Gouf makes a mistake initially in misjudgung the flight, but the Norwich player only had one thing in his mind to do, there is no desire to play a ball in or hit a shot, he feels back for Gouf, then falls forward as Gouf tries to hook the ball out. Jerome's finish is pretty damn good for their 2nd, it's a ridiculous angle to score from wouldn't be surprised if it was intended as a cross. There is no way they are scoring that 3rd goal without that huge deflection, in the commentary Lowes made it sound like it was a slight nick. The ball Shelvey played to Gayle for the 2nd was sensational, the control and finish from him too was pretty bloody great. Yedlin puts in a really nice cross for the third. Not sure what that Norwich defender is doing for the winner, he kind of gives it back to Gayle. One thing typfies the chances Gayle has is he takes the shots really fast, sometimes with little back lift, that's a good trait to have for a striker, he'll get goals if we feed him.
  20. IMO Shelvey is not in this team for his defending ability, and he created enough tonight to make up for any lapses here. The bloke is vital for our attacking game, take him out and what do we have ? Someone's got to get the ball to Ritchie, if that's your answer.
