Was really good in Belgium last season in particular and ended up top scorer I believe. He can be a bit untidy in build up play, but he's dangerous in the box. His movement in there is good and he's huge, although he will also have some poor finishes. Basically, his technique can let him down at times in all areas. They'll probably see him as a similar enough punt as when they went for Strand Larsen from Celta Vigo really. Obviously he's not on Strand Larsen's level, as he just isn't as good technically, but if they can create chances for him in the box he should cause problems. Can see why there's still talk that they would want another striker in aside from him, as I'm not sure if you can just throw Tolu in straightaway as the main and only option and be certain he'd deliver.

What a great interview man. Both German guys have come across fantastically well. Seems really excited and up for it and has a good feeling about the fit already, as do his family. Crazy we ended up with this guy so late on because we missed out on so many others, hope it pays off big time and he does very well.

Phwoar ... so essentially what we paid for Woltermade. Thank God we went with the big German. Jackson for that kind of money is mad, and I like a lot of what Jackson does. At the very most it should be around £55 million for Jackson IMO.

There's a lot of similarities with Isak in their all around game and versatility, with some further refining to work on, to become more of a poacher in the box. When Isak first came in he sometimes played on the left to or just off of Callum, which was a good way to ease him in as he developed further. Think we'll see Woltermade paired with another more traditional 9 at times in a similar manner, as he's further developed too. Howe previously spoke about the work that went into helping Isak become more of a goal scoring threat. Think we'll see the same work with Woltermade. Asked if Isak had added a new dimension to his game as a “fox in the box”, Howe revealed that is something they have put a lot of work into on the training ground. “Yes, I think he has [added that to his game],” Howe explained. “That is something we have tried to focus on with him. “He has many qualities, the winger comment that I made, he played wide left for us many times when he first arrived so he has the ability to play in different positions. “When you have those qualities, sometimes you can find yourself out of the key areas, the goalscoring areas, through the work you have done previously. “It has been great to see him score those goals this year, those goals in the six-yard box. They look like simple goals and the final finish is, but for him to end up in that position, that’s the hallmark of a great striker. “They may look scruffy, but from the player’s perspective and mine, they are worth their weight in gold.” https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/02/14/eddie-howe-i-wouldnt-swap-alexander-isak-for-erling-haaland/#:~:text=Asked if Isak had added,to stop people trying though.

This has to happen. Great shout.

We were first linked with him this summer, a week or two ago, prior to any injuries though

That man is trying everything to get sacked so he can collect his severance pay

Would really like a central midfielder that is more of a goal threat like Frattesi is. Love both Big Joe and Bruno, but Joe can be wasteful with chances even closer in, and Bruno's shooting from outside isn't the best. Having Frattesi and Ramsey on the bench will give us a greater goal threat from midfield. The squad really would be looking so much better with a lot more dangerous options.

Hoping this is because we're after Andrey Santos.

The idea that we were only working on one deal at a time was always ridiculous.

Howe has confirmed no dislocation thank God.

I think at some point during the negotiations with Bayern that Stuttgart were aware of our interest. They were very bold with the fee they were demanding from Bayern, and I can't help but wonder if they knew that we were willing to give them exactly what they wanted, which was an amount similar to the Ekitike and Sesko numbers.
-
Amazing news and quite the coup. Doubt we would have pulled this off if we had moved for him earlier in the window. Surprisingly Bayern ended up messing up their move for him and pissing Stuttgart off and likely pissing the player off to some extent as well, and it's paid off massively for Newcastle. Staying calm and patient after missing out on other targets has paid off for the guys working on getting players in. Happy for them. Always great to see the bedwetters end up in the mud too, as this place has really been stinking of piss the last few days, so get those sheets washed please! Left to some on here we'd have been signing Hojlund such was the head loss going on!

Newcastle were linked with Beier previously, before he went to Dortmund. Wonder if we're also looking at him.
-
The window hasn't even closed yet and we're only two games into the season I really hope they're paying him very well because the way this has already started they are going to destroy him and it's going to be worse than Hojlund.

Apparently the Grimsby team tonight was even a rotated squad
-
I'm sure he's gasping to work for Jim, Wilcox and Berrada. Of course he'd want to leave Newcastle where he's now been trusted with so much power and responsibility to let those chumps mess him about and have him unemployed with all the others in the next 12 months! The delusion of these people man. My God.
-
Have you seen the crazy decisions the people running the club have been making. What the hell makes you think Eddie Howe would want to work under those maniacs?!
-
Well tonight should crank the pressure up another 1000 notches or so Precisely what he needs ... a ton more pressure as he's expected to lead the line the rest of the season What a situation they've put this guy in man. Congrats on the hijack Man Utd and glad you enjoyed the banter. But now the actual games are here and there's nowhere to hide.
-
This club man Going down the same route yet again. Throwing money everywhere carelessly and still looking a mess.
-
Man Utd content tonight it is then Never mind, at least they won the transfers
-
So glad for Grimsby. Incredible managing to overcome that third goal being ruled out to hang on and manage the result on penalties. Great watch that was
