  1. Spot on - I made similar points in the Colo thread about our idiotic transfer policy of signing players to piss all over us and use us a stepping stone resulting in complete care-free attitudes towards the club!

A 20 (twenty!) page thread so far due to Gayle hailing the atmosphere in the club as being positive! What a spectacular set of plebs they are over there! http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/newcastle-united-feels-like-a-promoted-club-not-a-relegated-one.1249268/

Absolutely incredible but no surprise at all!
  6. This melt thinks that five England players would get into the French team!

Free, wasn't he? Was it not Solano in 2005?

Sima and Fish must have some patience to bother with the utter shite that the vast majority on there come out!

Is Rafa working to Spanish hours?!
  11. Not as great odds as they seem. It won't pay out at 7/1 if he's tied. If he's level with Griezmann, it'll only pay out half. And if you add Giroud, Payet, Gomez and Nani into the mix it could be a lot less. He'll win it outright due to having most assists, won't he?
  12. I said that the role in football isn’t as crucial as it is in other sports - cricket for example. The blame should be aimed at the club (and that t*** Pardew!) rather than Colo for the total lack of leadership recently – that is what happens when you constantly sign overseas players with the promise that they can use us as a stepping-stone and then move on in a few years which results in awful attitudes as well as zero feelings or passion for the club. Look at how many times we've come from behind to win matches in the past 4 or 5 years (without even taken into consideration the shit manager we had in the dug-out!). Thankfully, that idiotic transfer policy has been chucked into the bin and we’ll see a huge change going forward!
  13. From day one, it was obvious that he was not an organiser though so why blame him for not doing it? Some players simply aren't made to be captains. Mind, I don't think it's just the job of a captain on a football pitch to talk and organise mind either! In some sports, captains are crucial but not football for me. If players can't talk to each other / bollock each other / rally each other (something I still do and I imagine several others still do playing at whatever level!) then that's a collective problem and not just down to the captain. As I said previously, I wish he'd left a few years earlier as a lot of people's memories of him have been well and truly stained. He was absolutely superb for a good three years and without doubt the best footballing centre-half I've seen. It's a shame he wasn't around and played in either Keegan or Sir Bobby's teams as he would have looked even better in those sides. I'll miss our Colo debates, Ronnie lad (Although I doubt this one has finished yet )
  14. I've had a cracking week after a horrendous first few weeks! You can get 7/1 for Ronnie to be top scorer so if France go out tonight and Griezmann fails to score (assuming Payet and Giroud don't get 2!), then he only needs 1 in the final to win it!
  15. Yes, the reason for our two relegations was due to Colo being quiet
  16. He's the second best centre half we've had since I've been watching. Will remember fairly fondly in years to come. Just seen that comment - fuck me!
  17. A lot of people had doubts when he was appointed in 2011 due to his lack of talking on the pitch but what were the options? Again, surely you should blame Pardew for appointing him as a captain? Some people simply aren't made to be captains. We did finish 5th in his 1st season as captain and he made the PFA team of the year mind.....! Constantly signing players on the promise that they are able to move on to bigger and better things and use us as a stepping stone surely has a lot to do with how the whole team's heads go down when we fall behind? Thankfully, that stupid transfer structure has now been binned and we've already seen signs of bringing in players who care with leadership qualities!
  18. "Very sad to see him go" http://m.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/14600596.AFC_Bournemouth_boss_Howe__Ritchie_turned_down_new_Cherries_deal_before_joining_Newcastle/
  19. Decent?! He was tremendous for the most of three and a half years from August 2009 which resulted in him getting into two different PFA team of the seasons! No doubting his legs have been gone for a while and it turned sour for various reasons but people have forgotten how good he was! Our two other top quality centre halves from the Premier League era (Woodgate and Albert) also played in far superior teams and under managers who were on another planet to what Colo played under!

Agreed I asked the same question myself a few months ago. Perfect example! Sima and Fish deserve medals for posting on there! http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/sigh-the-famous-number-9-again.1248204/
