Well, there goes the keep it 0-0 for as long as possible and hope to grab a breakaway goal plan.

That's the face of a man who has just realised it wasn't a fart.

If he has any sense whatsoever (so pretty unlikely) he'll resign at the end of the season. Assuming we avoid relegation, if he leaves then he can claim that he managed to keep the club in the league for 2 years despite takeover problems, injury problems and a global pandemic. He can even blame Ashley for making his job impossible since no one is going to defend how the club is run. He won't have to face a full crowd screaming abuse at him when fans can return to grounds. He's not going to improve the team any more but if he leaves and we improve he can claim that it was down to the "solid foundations" that he laid & if the next manager is somehow worse and we get relegated he can claim that he left the club in a good place, etc. A large number of the useless melts that support us will even claim that he did a decent job of keeping us up. It's not like he needs to work to pay the bills and he'll easily walk into a punditry job. If he stays we'll do this all over again except he'll get to experience full crowds baying for his head after he fucks up again. He might get a nice payoff if he gets sacked though so if more money is all he cares for that's what he'll do.

Pretty dreadful second half. I detest how often we play the ball out from the back, get put under a little pressure & play the ball back to the keeper only for them to hoof it up the pitch so we lose possession anyway. Also, I know they had injuries but how the hell are West Ham in the top 4?

Aaron Hughes too. A defender who could play across the entire back four & who played 200+ Premiership games after he left us. He was sold for an absolute pittance as well.

For the first time in ages I thought that we looked better than the opposition & the draw was actually deserved. We were still dreadful but Villa were somehow worse. Murphy has to start against Brighton. He looked more of a threat than Fraser has managed in multiple games.

About as much threat as a 6 year old with a water pistol. This team is never going to score & it's just a matter of waiting for the inevitable mistake to see how many we're going to concede.

Very sad news. Wasn't the greatest manager we've ever had but he did well for us under the circumstances. Always seemed like a really nice guy too. RIP
