Considering how often cash + player rumours show up in the gossip you'd think that those types of deals happen all the time but I can't think of any involving top-flight clubs from the last decade. Not only do the clubs need to agree on the deal but the player involved needs to agree too. The player has to consider whether they'd be getting the same money and the receiving club will also want to decide whether to risk potentially upsetting a wage structure by accepting the deal. And if the deal doesn't go through, the player who was part of the deal now knows that their club wants rid of them. There are far too many moving parts in cash + player deals to make the deals viable.

Willock & Joelinton switching positions with each other during the game gives us options that we don't get with a wide forward like ASM.

Because they ask advice from people in the game. The same people who are personally friendly with these cretins and know that if their mate gets a job they'll have access for interviews and transfer exclusives, etc. Just look at the treatment Bruce received, all his mates running around telling us that he was doing a great job despite what every fan could see with their own eyes.

Nice win. Gutted about losing Bruno for 3 games though, we look a shadow of the team when he's not available. Would have also been nice to get 1 of the penalty calls. The Wilson pull/headgrab was pretty obvious.
