Great performance, even after they clearly tired later on. Shame that Almiron didn't get his hat trick though.

Great first half. Commentary keeps mentioning that Fulham have injured players and aren't at their full strength but somehow haven't noticed that we aren't exactly at full strength either. I'd love to see what might happen if we had Isak or ASM available too.

Not sure we deserved that, though given the last few minutes we were pretty unlucky not to sneak a win. We were pretty toothless throughout, Wood was utterly anonymous again. Horrific refereeing again didn't help.

Poor game, mostly thanks to the crap refereeing but a win's a win. Can Ritchie please be sold now? He's slow as molasses.

If they had VAR Tranmere would have had at least 2 players sent off by now.

I forgot how bad referees were outside the Premiership and without VAR to bail them out.

It's been noticeable in all 3 games so far this season that ASM is trying to pass more. There have been a bunch of situations where in previous seasons you would have expected him to either carry on dribbling to attempt the shot but instead he's been looking for the pass. Last week those passes were almost all off target but this week a lot of them found a team mate. If he can continue he'll have a great season.

Brilliant game

Pretty poor performance but that's the sort of game we'd have lost 3-0 in the last few years so it's an improvement, albeit a pretty boring one.

Very nice way to start the season. Feels very weird looking at the league table and not seeing us rooted to the bottom.

Absolutely brilliant win

Flair players get a pass when they produce an end product. Score or create chances and people won't mind as much that you don't contribute when defending. Stop producing and that free pass starts to get questioned.

A draw would have been nice but they didn't overrun us and didn't completely batter us, so those are pluses I guess

There was no real hiring process with Bruce. Barnes & Penfold had contacted 10 potential managers about the job, all of whom had rejected the opportunity to work under Ashley's controls. They then did what they understood how to do the best - nothing. Luckily for them, for the 2nd manager hunt in a row, a manager contacted them about the vacancy. We got very lucky the first time around when Rafa offered his services. Not so lucky the second time when the guy asking for the job was Bruce. No one sought him out for the job, he was simply the only one who was interested in working under Ashley. He's basically Chief Wiggum.
