Well, that was a fucking disaster
-
I fucking hate Liverpool, and the commentators who spend the entire game felating their players. Can't wait to watch us put in another uninspiring performance against them in a few weeks.
-
It's utterly bonkers. Saving a few pennies here and there behind the scenes but ignoring the massive pile of cash being burned in the dressing room. All the money they've so far saved by being penny pinching twats was thrown away on extending ten Hag's contact and then terminating his and Ashworth's contracts. It's like using a gallon of petrol driving somewhere to refill for a penny less.

Not really. Shearer's testimonial was 10 days after Miley was born but Shearer was injured so couldn't do more than kick off at the beginning of the game. So no, he's not old enough to have seen Shearer kick a ball competitively for us.
-
Just to depress everyone. He wasn't alive when Shearer got that 50-league-goal achievement with us. Not sure if it's more depressing that we're all so fucking old or that we've had so few players reach that milestone.

Shocking second half after some fantastic football in the 1st
-
If they have any sense they'll wait until he's 38 just for the Man City sign Old Trafford headlines.
-
The worry is that the players are backing off slightly, knowing that an injury or suspension might rule them out of the final. But in doing so, they're surrendering games before they've kicked off and risk going into the final in really poor form.
-
Disgraceful performance from everyone involved. They need a serious word with themselves if they think that sort of performance is anywhere near acceptable, especially with the cup final looming.
-
Not a pretty game at all & really showed up the limitations of the 2nd string players.
-
It's worth pointing out that this is an automatic thing. We have to submit a 25 man squad and once you've excluded the under 21's, we had less than 25 players in the first team squad so he gets added automatically. If Isaac Hayden had still been here he'd have gone in too. It doesn't mean that he's suddenly back in Howe's plans.
-
But, the amortization of his purchase would be changed as well. The remaining unamortized portion of the transfer fee would be spread over the length of the new contract so we may have been amortizing £12m per year for 3 years but now we'll be amortizing £6m per year instead so giving him an extra £2-3m wages per season actually saves us money (on paper). Utterly ridiculous setup and that's the most times I've ever used amortized/ing/ation in my life.

Spurs just seem hopelessly naive. Huge, obvious gaps in their defence that they're inviting Liverpool to run into and then at the other end they telegraph their attacks and lose the ball so easily. If you didn't know that they were a Premiership team you could be forgiven for thinking that they were a Championship side.

Get in! Brilliant performance.
-
I think it's also about how Howe likes to take time to integrate a new player into the team and getting a player on loan without the purchase option means wasting half the loan period whilst the player learns the system.
-
Yup. The time to sign Kluivert was when he cost ~€10m rather than now when he'll cost 5x that.
-
Willock only have 2 modes of play - brilliant or utter garbage. There's been far too much of the latter recently.
-
Dreadful performance, not helped by some rank refereeing. We have a real problem with complacency against mid-table teams.
-
There was a post on Reddit last week that showed the points per game of promoted teams since 2000 that shows a definite downward trend. The Championship is getting worse every season and the promoted teams are getting fewer points. For some teams with money and ambition it might be possible to throw a huge amount of money on transfers and gamble on survival but if the owners don't have the means or ambition their teams will struggle massively.

Nice win

Brilliant stuff
-
Beautifully taken goal
-
Is must be an utter clown part of the co-commentator job description? Spends 5 minutes discussing exactly why the clear foul shouldn't be a penalty, reviewing multiple replays that show the foul clear as day and then acts surprised when the referee gives the penalty.
-
Absolutely woeful performance all around. No one played well. Everyone gave really sloppy balls away. We have THE in form striker in Europe and he's barely given anything to work with. Absolutely embarrassing stuff.
-
Some very sloppy play and the really weak refereeing hasn't been helping.
