Some very sloppy play and the really weak refereeing hasn't been helping.

A nice win. Wolves remind me so much of us under Bruce. Play a really low block to keep the goals out and then, when you're 3 goals down and have nothing left to lose, start attacking.

I don't hate him. I just believe that we could, and should, be looking at better players. They want a lot of money for someone who is a decent Premiership player but I'd really hope that with some decent scouts we'd be able to find someone as good or better for less money.

If they don't get back into the Premiership soon they face a real prospect that younger fans will never become Sunderland followers at all. So many kids away from the big clubs simply follow the teams that their favourite players play for, what happens when those kids start following Isak, Bruno or Gordon? You can give away tickets to as many schools as you like but when the kids have the option of watching a top team play with their favourite players participating or watching a mid-table Championship game against Plymouth or Stoke you cannot be that surprised when no one turns up. Look at Bolton or Wigan. Two teams that had a greater impact on the Premiership than Sunderland ever had who have much bigger teams on their doorsteps, both teams languishing in League One. That's the future Sunderland face, they've got an owner with no connection to the club who could sell up at any time, dwindling attendances and uninspiring players. Promotion and weekly humiliation in the Premiership or lower league oblivion. Couldn't happen to a nicer team.

I bet he's never considered that they'd have completely filled the ground if the stadium had 80,000 seats.

Connor Whickham was a decent transfer, I was disappointed when we didn't go for him as Andy Carrol's replacement when he left for Liverpool. He suffered a really bad injury and was never the same player when he came back so he's always going to be a could have been. The rest of that list were laughably shite though.

There are houses with more mobility than Shelvey.

Almost certainly IMO. He's there to prove to his family that he's a grown up business type and flipping Sunderland for a £100m profit will absolutely show that, he doesn't give a flying fuck about the club itself.

Hope everyone's happy. Lee Dixon is in tears. Brilliant stuff. Just fantastic.

He's very very lucky to get that free kick for me Yeah, no shit, it was a disgraceful dive.

In the reverse leg do we think that ITV will have a Newcastle super fan as co-commentator to make up for the drivel that we've had to put up with in this leg?

Get in!

Made hard work if it but it's a good away win.

It will depend heavily on what sanctions UEFA impose on clubs who breach the spending rules. If it's just a token fine, as it has been for clubs like PSG so far, then fuck it, just pay the fine and carry on.

He should probably sue the tattoo parlour.

There's something special about beating Man Utd, even when they're the worst Man Utd team in living memory.
-
What Man Utd are experiencing now should be a warning for any team wanting to join a breakaway league. You may be a big team right now but once you're in a league with 17 other big teams you may just end up as one of the whipping boys for the really big teams.

Excellent performance & result

£100k for 20k pints would be turnover, not profit. The average profit from a single pint is usually in the 5p range, so for 20k pints that would be £1000. You'd have to get every man, woman and child in Newcastle to drink 100 pints a week to manage to make £1.5m profit.

Very nice, comfortable win.

We've played some nice stuff in that half. Has any player scored a hat-trick for us under Howe? I can't think of a game where it's happened. There's been plenty of games where Isak or Wilson have been taken off when on 2 goals that made it seem like Howe was somehow averse to players scoring hat-tricks. Has it happened & I've just forgotten?

Isn't Cunha looking at a significant ban for attacking an Ipswich staff member? Decent player but if he gets less than a 12 match ban he'll be laughing.

Very nice win against the worst team we've come up against since Sheff Utd.
