    Alan Pardew

It'd be unlike any member of the UK media to make some shit up and publish it as gospel.
  3. This is something that continually amazes me. There's no shortage of decent managers out there, guys with real long-term pedigree and top class experience yet we seem to make the wrong decision every time. This goes right back to replacing a world class, talented gentleman like Bobby Robson with Graeme sodding Souness and then following that up with Glen fucking Roeder. More recently we've had to endure Joe Kinnear and Alan Pardew. The two chinks of light we had, Hughton and Keegan, were treated appallingly and left the club. The worst part of it is watching other clubs, often lesser clubs than ourselves, snap up decent managers and progress while we sit by and watch. It's depressing to think what Sir Bobby or Keegan could achieve with this squad. The current defence is better than anything we had during their tenures, the midfield has players capable of playing some fantastic football and we have a striker who, when playing with confidence, can score absolutely unbelievable goals. Yet, this season, they've looked incapable of the absolute basics.

Well, since Pardew seems to pick the worst defensive line that can be contemplated (deep vs the slow attack of Sunderland, high line vs the quick attack of Liverpool) I'd expect Pardew to have the entire back four camped in the Arsenal half. Perhaps with a rush goalie too.

Staying in the prem? How like? We won't get another point this season. Totally relying on Wigan to choke, who by the way are playing really well at the mo. Relying on the Mackems to beat Villa to keep the pressure on them too.
  6. If he's not sacked for this he needs to walk. This is fucking criminal.
  7. Anyone want to bet that Pardew spent the week training the team to deal with a Liverpool team that had Suarez up front?
  8. Woeful. Pathetic. Just sack the useless cunt who has led us to this fucking disaster.
  9. Absolutely disgraceful performance. Truly disgusting that any of those players dare call themselves professional footballers after that shambles.
  10. I'm of the belief that his biggest problem is that he doesn't give a s*** about West Ham or Liverpool. Playing for us he had the lure of playing for the team he supports and playing to further his career. He had friends and family around him to look out for him if necessary. Once he got his "big" move and huge wage packet though, what more was there left for him to play for? Who was there to look after him on and off the pitch? Coming back here could give him the chance to redeem himself and become the player he looked like he could become before he left. Is that really the attitude a professional should adopt? Especially one who had actually proved nothing in his career. Well clearly no, but he's hardly the first professional footballer to have attitude problems and he won't be the last either. Perhaps Liverpool should have spoken to Preston North End staff about his time there (8 appearances in 5 months, 1 goal, 1 red card) before spunking £35m on him.

  12. Never in the world is he worth more than £10m I wouldn't even go that high tbh but West Ham apparently agreed the £18m fee at the end of the loan. Bargepole time, no thanks. Haven't West Ham already said they won't be exercising the option they have on him? He's not been a £9m player for them let alone £18m.

From talking to some Sunderland fans at work today they seem to think that the biggest risk isn't that he's a nutter, or that the media are having a field day with his appointment but rather that he might have given the players an excuse to not perform. They've sacked the previous media and player friendly manager He's too much of a disciplinarian He's a racist His appointment has turned fans away His appointment has added too much media pressure on the team Their best goal-scorer is injured etc. The squad have a ready made list of reasons to turn in half-hearted performances. If they go a goal down, there are reasons why they can simply not try, they'll still get paid after all.

It's beyond belief that the son of a Marxist Polish Jew father and Holocaust survivor mother might have a problem with an avowed fascist.
  15. Pathetic stuff. Boring, shite, negative tactics that were never going to work with the players that are out there.
