  1. We've been appalling in the first half, just utter crap. We just look like we have no idea how we're supposed to be playing or what we're supposed to be doing with the ball. It's only half time & we're already looking at yet another inexcusable performance.
  2. They will tire. That's great, but if we continue playing the way we have been they'll be 2 or 3 up by that point
  3. We've been utter wank so far, looking clueless on how to deal with Sunderland closing down players
  4. No shit, prices are mostly unaffordable especially if you wishing to go in a group/as a family. And yet we're one of the cheapest clubs to watch in the Premiership. One thing they've missed though is that people will pay to watch a winning team & won't pay to watch crap. It wouldn't matter if the tickets are £1 each if the experience is depressing as shit, conversely if we were challenging for the league title you could easily fill the stadium even if the prices were double their current levels.

    Alan Pardew

So, if the fans start accepting poor performances and results, we'd be a better club? Aye. Don't think he means it like that, more the fact every game is a must win up here, even gets said on this forum before nearly every match, if we lose 'must win' game, relegation battle looms. Well at least that's what i think he is putting across. There's pressure on every club manager to succeed but not necessarily on every single game like it is with Pardew. I thought he came across the whole interview rather well to be honest, obviously can dissect a quote here or there that might be incorrect or slightly baffling but on the whole thought it was a good watch and enjoyed it. Too fucking right they should be. We should be aiming to win every single game, home & away, no matter who the opponent is. To try to win but fail is forgiveable, to give up before a ball has been kicked is contemptible.

Oh dear. Everything that's wrong with English football summed up there. The England team is full of soft cunts and divers. It's the mentality that hard work (usually meaning lots of running around and diving into tackles) is somehow better than actual ability. It's what leads to players like Alan Smith, loads of running around & hard tackles but the man struggled to pass to a team mate, gave away possession all the time and most of his hard tackles were stupid desperate tackles to win a ball back that he'd lost. People laud defenders like John Terry for his last ditch goal-saving tackles but somehow miss that the best defenders rarely need to make those tackles because their reading of the game is enough that those situations don't arise in the first place. It'll struggle to change in this country because all those involved at the top end of the game, from coaches & managers to "expert pundits" in the media are the exact type of player who succeeded in the shit system that's producing the same shite players year after year.

  8. Has he not changed the second half round? I forgot he only gets the blame for shit. Never credit for the smallest of positives. He managed to set the team up completely incorrectly and let us slip to a 3 goal deficit before making even the slightest change but he pulled everything back in the 2nd half so we only lost by 1. He fucked up. Badly. Again.
  9. like he would had made a difference Considering the way that fuckwit has the team set up tonight I expect Cisse would have been playing wide right anyway, since it worked so well last season.
  10. Have the players got a bet going as to who can take the worst set piece?

Being a lunatic as a player is OK, as long as you're good enough that the brilliance will outweigh the crazy. But it just isn't the same as a manager, at least not a the top levels. The name he made for himself as a player may have been enough to inspire some lower league nobodies but when you're managing international players, some of whom have won far more than he ever did, you need more than righteous anger and insanity.

Who lets Cabaye take all those corners though? Surely after the first 100 utterly wasted corners he might have thought to give corner duties to someone else or set some time aside to get the team to practice attacking (and defending) corners. It's reached the point where we'd be better off putting the ball out for a goal kick since we don't just fuck up attacking corners, we end up creating attacking moves for the opposition.
  13. Another one of his magnificent half time team talks. I wonder if it wouldn't be better to keep the players on the pitch jogging in circles for 15 minutes instead of letting him talk to them.
  14. Absolute fucking rubbish. Completely unacceptable performances from too many players, only Remy comes out of that with any credit whatsoever. Debuchy needs to spend a few weeks in the reserves.
  15. They've defended well because we've played almost nothing but telegraphed, obvious passes all fucking day. We've not changed our approach to the game even when it's been blatantly clear that it wasn't working.
  16. from here http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/sep/19/yohan-cabaye-newcastle-united Cabaye, apparently the David Frost of footballers And the transformation to Alan Partridge is complete

He got the team right in 2 games & we played some decent attacking football. But, he still only plays that way when he believes that the squad is at full strength (even when a lot of us could see us playing the exact same type of football with slightly different personnel). He clearly doesn't have a lot of faith in some of the squad & doesn't have a game plan that allows for injuries, suspensions or transfers. The real tests will be what happens against a "bigger" team & what happens if we get a couple of injuries to members of his first XI. Will he fall back to type & surrender to the title-chasers before the game has even kicked off & will he fall back to the safety first shitfest that we had most of last season when his first choice team aren't available?
