Yep it's pretty much all down to league position. Why join now, when you can wait to see if we are relegated or not and then join in the summer. IF we stay up it will me immeasurably easier to get 'marquee' players in the summer.

And played Watford without a striker? We'll still need to recruit for those positions but we pretty much have to win on Saturday. We spent all game last week crossing to the ghost of Callum Wilson. Having a actual live striker in there is massive. If we can get some results before the end of Jan we may find people more willing to join.

Because Prem proven goals scorers are prohibitively priced? He's not top tier so no one has decided the financial outlay is worth it. However we are in a very tight spot and I think this is pragmatic. Esp if it's between him and no one in before Watford.

He's already been quoted at £30m odd. Plus I don't think he'd take the chance when he could be in the prem at the end of the season anyway.

Who are Burnley going to sign at his quality/experience for 20m? As we've found out the market for anyone half decent is prohibitive. Even top tier championship strikers may not move if they look like getting promotion.
