  1. I mean it’s not like we didn’t see a collapse like that at the absolute highest level last season. With PSG just absolutely going to pieces despite having been fairly dominant over the two legs.
  2. We lost our attacking fluidity but apart from the Armstrong chance they didn’t carve any real opportunities or moments to score. I think there was a feeling that if they got another goal, even a slightly freakish one like the Adams goal, we might crumble despite the form all season telling you otherwise.
  3. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spieler/vertragslosespieler/statistik/1/plus//galerie/0?ausrichtung=alle&spielerposition_id=7&land_id=alle&altersklasse=&wettbewerb_id=alle&seit=alle&yt0=Show Danny Drinkwater anyone
  4. For all their pressure they created nothing after the goal. We may not always play well but we fucking do not concede chances. feel a bit emotionally burnt out after that .
  5. Bruno’s a fucking radgie he wears a radgies hat, He saw Edozies ankle and said I’m snapping that!
  6. Aren’t Palace a more immediate threat to them
  7. Hopefully Chelsea can derail this
  8. This may be the one season you can get away with being a bit short with no other commitments but the league (and hopefully the CC final).
  9. So effectively we want Man U to finish in the top four with us then.
  10. No, there would be five clubs in the CL if that happened
  11. point behind Bayern with same games played, they are bang in the title race
  12. Price of Football pointed out that clubs under the multi club model (Brighton and their Belgian club, City and Girona) have an advantage recruiting the best young European teenagers. Due to Brexit you can’t sign those players as young a previously (which is why every young Scottish player gets immediately bought as it’s the only league to poach from). Clubs with a European proxy can bypass this by running a lot of their academy via their club in the EU. Wonder if PIF will look at a Belgian or Portuguese team for this?
  13. They’ve made close to 400m odd in player sales in the past four windows. £157m in 19/20 £60m in 20/21 £124m in 21/22 £56m in 22/23 Add in you don’t have to be in profit, just under the allowable amount of losses. It’s utterly reckless and unsustainable in the long term but they aren’t breaking any of the rules at the moment.
  14. It’s not really a loophole though is it, Chelsea are one of the few big six clubs who make good money back from selling players. Their current spend is allowable under FFP but long term it won’t be especially if they fail to get in the CL.
  15. Job security and a top wage guaranteed for nearly all your peak years in a profession where a muscle injury at 22 can ruin you. The players would be mad not to consider it. The main issue is for the club and the long term motivation of people with such job security.
  16. Everton after Viktor Gyokeres seems a much smarter use of the Gordon money than Gallagher. Hits the ground running, they stay up, if they go down they have a proven goalscorer at that level.
  17. Price of football Podcast. Part of it is that they’ve sold about 500m worth of players in the past few years.
  18. Yeah very small sample size but Gallagher hasn’t looked particularly good any time I’ve seen him.
  19. Not every player but contract insecurity and short career are a massive motivating factor for a lot of players. Feels like that will be a real factor for Chelsea. Surely gonna make it ridiculously hard to sell if any of these turn out to be shit - why would I go elsewhere on a 4 year deal when I still have 7 years on my contract?
  20. Thought they couldn’t buy anyone yet?
