  1. If that was aimed at me I still think he'd come good. He was a ball-playing cb much in the same vein as Colo. With a brute next to him he would've been good. Not in a Big Sam team though, but in a team where the tactics consists of more than soaking up pressure from the opponents and then kicking long punts forward.
  2. He looks very slight build similar to Rozenhal. Might struggle with the physical nature of the premiership. I honestly think that Rozenhal would've been very good in a settled team even in the premiership.
  3. Looks like you'll need a Swede on your side to counterweight Towelie. I'll cheer for the US, no bother.
  4. Was all over the Scottish Papers during the weekend. Suppose to be three of them in charge, similar to how Hughton/Calderwood/Barron looked after 1st team affairs, can't remember the name of the third guy though. Bit disappointing he's chosen to go, however, if its a step up to 1st team coach its good for his career progression. Johan Mjällby, isn't it?
  5. He will ask for £40k no doubt. He asked for £20k in Jan 2009 when Birmingham (Then in the CCC) agreed a fee with Rangers for him. Birmingham only offered him £12k + £7k per match though. Would probably get him for around £25-30K a week.
  6. to me that reads as all transfer fees up front. Transfer fees will have to be payed either up front or in installments and will have to be concluded one year after the purchase. I thought this was something that the Premier League was incorporating for the coming season.
  7. No he can't his price is £5m as Fulham have already found out. Which is their top prioce for him. As the transfer deadline gets closer, that fee will reduce because they need the money and would have to replace him. You got Bristol Citys accounts handy to back up this need to sell? Yet another stupid smart arse remark from you that only displays your own deficiencies in entering a discussion sensibly. If you cant say anything sensible, say nothing at all. OK? You tell me Bristol need the money then i asked you to back up such a claim, its a fair question as you claim to know the answer. If you were simply bullshitting why not just say so instead of taking the debate off on a personal level to disguise your own lack of facts? http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/321745c062275d8938441cdf0e9d3b42/compdetails They'll cost you a pound if either of you are bothered. Or you can download them for free from here: http://www.bcfc.co.uk/page/AnnualAccounts/0,,10327,00.html Just trying to save the fighting chaps a quid.

  9. any good? I read he was in the preliminary squad. Seems to playing some low down club in the Greek league these days, Leviakos or something. I didn't see the game, no. He just caught my eye as one of the few Uruguayan players that played the full 90 mins. I'm curious about him since the loan to Newcastle. Felt a bit exotic with a south-american playmaker. Wasn't to be though.
  10. Nacho played the whole game for Uruguay as well.
  11. Well, I doubt he's got a chance to end up at a bigger club than Newcastle if he leaves Spurs. The only team I think would suit him better than us would probably be Fulham. None of the Top 10 will have him I'd say. He has stagnated a bit at Spurs and he's a few years older than last time he was here. I think he would be a realistic signing and a good signing at that.
  12. Might be time for me to apply for a position at our Norwegian offices then. Would be lovely if Viasat could do the same here in Sweden.
  13. Skintoned panties maybe? Unless she's got a really pale one that is. With seams.
  14. I'm sure UEFA has stated that they will implement a rule that will only allow transfer fees to be paid over two years at most.
  15. As a statement and a press release it's woefully written. They have tried to be as clear as possible but in doing so they have said absolutely nothing new. No communication from the top of the club other than prepared statements? Nothing new there. With the "new capital outlay" debacle I read it as there won't be any new money from MA to sanction new signings. He wants a club that lives within its means. Some money from the new sponsorship deals, TV deals and so on will be allocated for transfers. And I don't see anything wrong with that.
  16. I'm sure Ashley has put in £25.5 million during this financial year, he might have to put in more before it comes to a close but I doubt it. I think it says in the accounts that he put in a further £25.5m before yearend (Dec 31 2009). Since then he has according to Llambias put in a further £5.5m for running costs, and £5.5m for transfers during January. But if that's true, who knows?
  17. £20 million a year only adds up to £60 million, he's already put in much more than that. He made the £20m a year statement AFTER Keegan went. He'd already paid in at least £70m the day he arrived which, the way I see it, was not part of the £20m a year he was always willing to bankroll us with. Current debt is £111m (up to 2009) plus £25m (09/10) which means his spending over 3 seasons is (111-70)+25 = £66m or £22m per season. Credit to him for sticking to his word....so far. Didn't he put in £36m this year. I'm sure I saw that somewhere. Right, here it is: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/8553411.stm What Llambias said to the BBC doesn't tally with note on the accounts. Ok.
