  1. On the other hand we were winning comfortably before he came on, and when he came on he scored twice. Could go either way! He came on when it was 0-0, with the rest of the players. Oh, I thought it was later, forget I said anything! He also only scored once.

  3. I think any sort of team hierarchy is a bad idea tbh. But this is compunded when the players in question aren't fit to be in such positions. Alan Smith for example, if that qualifies as football intelligence then it's about time monkeys were allowed to get a game.
  4. Let's be honest, 95% of what comes from our academy turns out to be complete shite, not even fit for the championship.
  5. It most certainly isn't a good idea when the committee in question consists of 2 fundamentally bad footballers.
  6. Lovenkrands ripped Swansea to pieces, he'll start that game if Hugton has an ounce of sense.
  7. Good, him and Ranger should both go on season-long loans next season too.
  8. Taylor and Dabizas ahead of Bassong and Howey?
  9. I personally think our best 11 is better now. The players remaining from 2006 are all better with the exception of Joe Cole.
  10. To say we'll have to 'defend like we've never fucking defended before' is a tad OTT in my opinion. Terry and Ferdinand are probably the best two CB's in the world on form and Ashley Cole is without doubt the best LB. Would be nice if Gerrard brokes Torres' leg in training.
  11. The problem however isn't just Xavi and Iniesta. Villa and Torres for example could punish a tiny error. They're such a slick, well-oiled machine, and I think are too good to be simply outmuscled, outpowered, or whatever word you want to use. We'll need to take our chance against them and defend like we've never f***ing defended before. We kept 4 clean sheets out of 5 in 2006 didn't we? I have every confidence we'll defend well again.
  12. I prefer to remember him when Beardsley was in.
  13. Nah, we'll beat Spain if we perform like we should. I can't really see where they'll hurt us. Xavi and Iniesta won't know what's f***ing hit them against two proper english midfielders. And as for that defence, raped.
  14. Beardsley was the type of player who could make any team look good going forward.
  15. It was more than that I think, although it may have just seemed longer.
  16. No, completely different types of player.
  17. More or less, Pedro's days were coming to end when Shearer arrived though. Rolled back the years with that peformance against Boro at home though, with Shearer (and Ferdinand?) out.
  18. Get the best out of Rooney and Lampard and you've guarenteed a place in the last 4, in my opinion.
