I don’t see it getting better. That’s the main thing. I see zero answers in regards to the questions we were asking about the midfield over a year ago, a huge reluctance to pick teams based on home / away and opposition a la Rafa, one dimensional game plans and players clearly not buying in to the approach. What are we expecting from Howe? He wakes up one day a different man?

With this squad and this manager, do you see us finishing top 6?

Our ambition is top 4/5 and we lost at home to West fucking Ham because we missed Dan Burn and a 34 year old Kieran Trippier. Surely even you must cringe when you come out with stuff like that in *defence* of the manager.

Why can’t he figure this stuff out after 18 months? A top level manager doesn’t take this long to figure out how Sandro Tonali can give more to the team than Sean Longstaff.

It means very little to me that. We were abject in the second half. Our style of play is one dimensional and completely reliant on winning by attrition and taking advantage of winning the ball deep in the opponents area. We have a player on the bench that would start for the vast majority of CL teams but the manager can’t figure out a way to integrate him in our style. All of it just comes back to a lack of flexibility.

You come out with this every time though. We were all in agreement we needed to start this season very well. We’ve had pretty much the easiest start possible and we’re 10th. Something is intrinsically missing despite one player missing from the starting Xl.

Yeah, very in keeping with a lot of the home games in 95-96, absolutely irrepressible wing play and someone on the end of everything directing it top or bottom corner. Weirdly we played the same West Ham side a few weeks before that at Upton Park and they battered us. Bizarre.
