If he’s starting we’ll be lower than that. He really needs 2 seasons out of loan but the club will probably need him as sporadic backup next season.

What a finish! -
Not for us he wasn’t. He was utter shit in the Championship.
-
Good looking, young (at 5 months off 30), stylish, clean and fresh, first class.
-
We could literally end the window with no strikers in the squad and you’d try to put a positive spin on it. Of course he’s not fine. He’s fuming and so he should be.
-
Who is actually responsible for our negotiating? It’s Joe Kinnear land this.
-
Season prep is out the window. Tour of the far and not one striker on it. Imagine any of the other big 6 or 7 getting into that position? The club have some serious questions to answer.
-
Yeah there’s no way he’s going for that type of keeper.
-
It’s crazy how downtrodden we are considering both our current standing in the league / Europe and the fact our chairman is the most powerful man in sport.

Logistically easy and the fixtures make money. Agree in spirit though. -

Quite right. -
I get why he has fans and people who want him to succeed / exaggerate his qualities because he’s a character, seems a good one at that. And, let’s be honest, was somewhere between very raw and utter shit at the time we signed him. Osula developing into a useful PL player is a nice story as well as massive vindication of the club and the coaching staff. My God if we go into the season with him as Isak’s backup though.
-
That space between Eddie and Yasir is, at best, vacuous and amateur. Think we’ve known that for a while.

Let’s be honest though, there were no excuses for this summer not to be a complete home run given the league finish, extra income for CL and the lack of actual signings over the past 2 years. I do get where the ‘bed wetters’ are coming from because Eddie deserves better. -
Be amazed if he’s not at least a bit annoyed, mind. We’re into August in 2 weeks time and we haven’t acquired any of what we ‘need’ while the sides around us all have. I’m not saying panic but he has the right to be pissed off.
-
Yeah good post. Again and again he’s obsolete against the sides below us in the league. Feel bad for saying it because he was a giant in the cup final.
-
Gordon didn’t start his first game I don’t think and certainly wasn’t a guaranteed starter in that first half season. Isak and Wood had to start because we had no fit strikers if memory serves. As good as Murphy was last season I really hope Elanga starts. Been talking about it to a few Man U lot this week and all described him as an absolute pressing machine. Really excited to see what he can do.
-
He had a very good one but was only fit for about 40 games in the 2 seasons prior. Him not being available wasn’t a shock to anyone.
-
That was most games, so I’m not sure who had that perspective.

The number 9 shirt was iconic way before Shearer, mate. Come on. That’s the whole reason he insisted on nicking it from Ferdinand.
