How little Wayne Rooney adds to build up play.
-
Such a fucking wet blanket. Hope he never works again.
-
Ian's had it in for Lukaku since he obliterated the Coloccini-MYM ultimate wet dream.
-
Give over, man. When was the last time someone said "Those Geordies are morons - they wouldn't even play Rooney over Kane and Vardy!" Well that's not what he said man Waste of time, mate. And I thought Stifler was slow.
-
What an absolute class act. Quite possibly the best manager any of us will ever see at NUFC and he might only be here 2 months. Doesn't bear thinking about.
-
Kane's a better player than Vardy, by a distance. Had a better season, too.
-
At the height of his football career he was regularly beating the shit out of his wife, man. He's just a fucking idiot.

So the point being made is Shearer had one standout tournament at international level and Rooney's had none. You're perfectly entitled to your wrong opinion but I can't be bothered indulging in this embarrassing, biased bollocks anymore. Totally divorced from reason and typical fuel for the stuff that gets said about NUFC fans every time I watch us in a pub outside the NE.

What an bizarre post.
-
I didn't mention you once, like. But OK.
-
They both have a single standout tournament as England players, it's that simple. Shearer was obviously the superior goalscorer but to say he was 10 times better than Rooney - at domestic or international level - is utter fucking nonsense and typical of the stuff that has our fans a national laughing stock.
-
Both Rooney and Shearer had 1 fantastic tournament for England. Stop talking crap, man. Shearer has 9 in 12 at tournments, Rooney 6 in 14. Rooney got 4 of those against Switzerland & Croatia, you're trying to compare that to what Shearer did at Euro 96? You're the one talking crap, as per. What are you trying to imply, that Shearer's was a better out-and-out goalscorer than Wayne Rooney - including when Shearer had penalties? Well fucking done, he was.
-
He's old and completely reliant on his jaded link with NUFC to pay his heating bill etc.
-
Both Rooney and Shearer had 1 fantastic tournament for England. Stop talking crap, man. Just because it's not in line with your views, doesn't mean he's talking crap Mate, the last time you took issue with 'my views' I'd just told you we were playing shit under McClaren and our January transfer window business was inadequate. I'd have thought you'd have embraced the logic in sharing opinions with a modicum of factual basis by now, like.

Colback, Colo and Elliot, man.

Clearly not if he's saying Shearer was 10 times better.

Spot on. Shearer banged goals in consistently, against all sides despite three potentially career ending injuries. Rooney is a flat track bully. Happy to get a couple against wank teams, and gets to (badly) take the penalties which inflate his stats, but he always goes missing against half decent sides. Shearer was ten times the player Rooney is. What a dreadful post. Rooney might be past his best now but he's been a class act for the best part of 14 years. If Rooney had been a penalty taker throughout his career he'd not be far behind Shearer's PL record now. And that doesn't touch on how many goals he's helped create for others.

Kane isn't a gamble, and nobody has advocated leaving him out anyway. Kane has to start, no question. Aye. Gamble was definitely the wrong word. I think I meant to say Roy should have the conviction to leave Rooney out of any starting line up. Thing is, Roy knows that if we fail at the Euros he won't be in charge come the next World Cup. He'll pick his best team.

That might just be our Bosingwa game this time round.

Until reminded that in the space of 12 months we had Joe Kinnear as director of football, John Carver as manager and Fabricio Coloccini as captain.

Name 4 strikers better or 4 attacking midfielders better. No? Exactly. Rooney is a striker who has Kane, Vardy, Sturridge at the very least ahead of him. They won't take four attacking midfielders but he surely would be behind Alli and Barkley. On this season's form, he should be nowhere near the England squad, and nor should he on tournament history. You still can't name 4 strikers who should go ahead of him. It's worth mentioning that Rooney's generally been good for England since the WC and scored plenty of goals. He's been poor for Man U with the shackles on, granted. Rewriting history again Ron, as is your wont. I remember you giving it a couple of years before informing us that Rooney had had a good Euro 2012. He's been average despite knocking in a few goals, and we look far better without him. FWIW, I'd take Welbeck ahead of him too. 11 goals in 15 games since the World Cup. That's a fact, by the way, not a rewriting of history. And what I actually said was he was good in the 2 games he played in Euro '12, which he was.
