Slovenia must be shit.
-
Rooney was thinking about claiming was he? What nonsense.
-
Dummett and Cisse also out for the season.
-
I don't think I could possibly be any more impressed by that bloke.
-
Ryan fucking (substitute in the Championship in 2009) Taylor starting at LB in the PL in 2015.
-
Same here. My only trip to SJP was in 2005 against Liverpool when he scored the only goal, a free kick. Was that his last goal for us? Free kick against Olympiakos a few days later. Check out Sewelly's compilation of his goals on YouTube.

I said, he's basically a pefect pro. Just not my type of player even during his peak, and certainly not now.

It's about as relevant, or less so, than what Souness achieved before coming here. Poor managers win stuff. McClaren's an average 5/10 manager and nothing in his CV suggests otherwise.
-
Beardsley and Robert were tied for me until his defences of Ashley and Pardew. Still love Beardsley, just not as much.
-
Same. And same.
-
Is there 32 in Sewelly's video? He missed a couple out.
-
It was more than that. 30 in the league according to Wiki and I can think of at least 5 in the cups.

So beating Oldham, Boro, City (then in second tier), Arsenal, Sheff Wed and a Spurs side containing Ben Thatcher and Chris Perry better than taking Boro (via victories over Stuttgart, Roma and Basel) to the UEFA Cup final? Yes, winning is better than finishing 2nd. That's before you even take into account which teams listed there were taking the respective tournaments more seriously. Kuffour, Mexes, Chivu, De Rossi, Perrotta, Dacourt all started for Roma against them. But hey ho. Sorry, are you saying losing 4-0 to Sevilla in the Uefa Cup is a better achievement than wining the (admittedly shit) League Cup with Blackburn? I'm fucking bored with this shit, anyway. Anyone legitimately wanting Steve 'Derby are doing well in the Championship and he did well at Boro' McClaren over the suggested/approached realistic European options is a mong. End.
-
Boro had a better side than Blackburn, too. No idea why you're bothering constructing a defence for him, IP. Assuming he's marginally better than I've suggested, negative football and average results achieve what?

And nobody said he was shit. As I've already said, he's a 5/10 manager with a CV and style which inspire absolutely nothing other than indifference. It'll be shit football and average (at best) results. What will any of us get out of that? Fucking nothing.
-
He isn't. Souness' league cup win with Blackburn eclipses anything McClaren's achieved, also.
-
Sorry, but this just strikes me as small-minded sensationalism. Or common sense that some don't want to hear. Is he a better option that Kinnear, Pardew and Carver? Yes. But that's hardly an endorsement. So had/has Graeme Souness. I don't even know who you are, bugger off and stop wasting my time.
-
Those two really have the same number of appearances? Freaky.
-
Is James Milner not still playing for the U21s?
-
McClaren's a 5/10 manager more likely to get us relegated than into European contention. Can do so much better.
-
Except Colback, as medicore as he often is, is better in almost every area.
-
That's not true like. The only right back that got the better of him that season was Perch. He was easily one of our best players, not that I think he'd be any good in the Championship now. I remember plenty of games in that division where he had little impact. He's just not very good. Never has been. That's a load of rubbish man. You not liking him doesn't mean that he's never had his uses. I do like him. And you're the one talking rubbish. He's pretty much a perfect professional and clearly a nice, admirable person. Poor footballer, though. Mostly awful in our relegation season and underwhelming in the Championship. Had a decent time of it from early 2011 to mid '12 when it was basically his function to just protect the full-back and graft through games while the rest of the side put points on the board. Nah. I make absolutely no apologies for thinking attacking players who can't make things happen in the final third aren't very good.
