My only real annoyance with Carr is that despite being a 'fan', he's complicit in finding players for the purpose of resale value who aren't particularly suitable for the team. I also think if he truly 'has Ashley's ear' a more concentrated effort to stress the need for a proper manager and squad of players would be justified.
Funny he's never spoken a bad word about either Pardew or Carver, then. Not to mention the fact he's mentioned enjoying his new position. Now that his pace has more or less gone there's absolutely nothing to warrant him getting PL games in midfield or up front.
I'm not remotely angry, I just don't like him. I think he typifies better than anyone else the deterioration in the fabric of top-end English football in the past 15 years or so. All money and pragmatism. No class or passionate idealism.
He's just a bloke who used to scrub windows for a living pretending to be his hero Jose Mourinho, man. How else can such a failure as a football manager achieve that other than feigning gargantuan self-confidence at every opportunity?
I'm not sure where he'll go. He'll no doubt be a top keeper one day but he's regressing with us to the point that penalty shootout in Brazil is the only thing keeping him relevant.
I think anyone entertained by a manager (unlimited funds, 2 trophies in last 5 seasons) laughing at the lack of success of another (significantly smaller budget, 1 trophy in last 5 seasons) can't be too bright, yes.
