Am I the only who gets a bit pissed off with the ‘top 10 would’ve been a good season’ tripe? We finished 11th last season purely on the basis of a top 4 (38 points I think) second half of the campaign, and strengthened the squad significantly in 2022. 9th or 10th would’ve represented regression.

Yeah. He plays 2 roles in one for us. Very difficult to replace that. Our best CB and clearly not going anywhere.

Nah. I love him and appreciate his fantastic efforts but this is him. He had an unbelievable first half of the season and can be very proud but it’s over for him as a regular starter here.

4 games of Isak and Wilson together in the starting Xl and 1 goal from open play between them. It really doesn’t work starting them both, namely because one of them can’t come off the bench. We need to build them team around Isak centrally. Callum will get plenty of game time next season but he absolutely cannot be the main man.

Incredible achievement. There’s a lot of work to be done to evolve into a squad capable of competing in Europe as well as the PL but hopefully this is the trajectory turner.

Kanji from here met him in Florida and said he was a very sound bloke too. It’s a pass or fail mentality with Souness. You’re either, at face value, worthy of his respect, trust and support or you’re not. Which obviously isn’t the way to manage anyone, let alone millionaire footballers. A big reason he failed - in addition to being tactically only marginally ahead of Steve Bruce.

I highly doubt we’ll see Gordon, Anderson and Miley.

Ooooh good timing. Wilson has been unbelievably good this season apart from that bizarre 2 and a half months when he looked dead. Those two penalties against Leeds in front of mincing radgies sum him up - balls as big as an Irish broad’s ass, to quote Ralph Cifaretto. Ba was outrageously good at scoring half chances and better footballer overall. Callum has at least proved me wrong to be so sure of it. Ask me again in 10 days.
