Some atrocious calls there. See my reaction on p.13 for some good old-fashioned British common sense.
-
Bit hostile, but I agree. The disparity is pretty obvious. Sels aside (who was shit) I think we’ve given keepers an easy ride over the past decade, and understandably so under the circumstances. Dubravka is a decent keeper who was never going to be good enough to see us to the next level.
-
Wish he’d be less soft, that’s all. Nobody is doing us any favours, and I’d have liked to see him confront the referee about that ridiculous VAR decision.
-
Our bench is mid-table Championship standard. Really to need to be ruthless and acquire a bit of depth next couple years of windows.
-
Attacks it really well. Brilliantly assertive. Can see him and Schar both getting a few this season. Far cry from the days of Coloccini and Williamson when the CBs would provide 1 a season between them.
-
An 8 is about right in the context of the club’s ambition. I count 7-8 very good players who are exactly what we need for the next few years, a handful who are acceptable for now, and a load of crap who shouldn’t really be in PL squad. It’s a transition and we’ve made good strides but there’s still too much residue from the Bruce years and beforehand - if I’m being hypercritical.
-
I said this the other day but we had a dozen corners with him on the field against Wolves. He got nowhere near any of them.
-
Anyone mentioned yet that Xisco scored on his debut? Seriously though, looks a real player.
-
Top keeper. Best we’ve had in years and years. Not a high bar, mind.
-
I was thinking that the other day you know. I don’t want to be morbid but he’s quite clearly not up to basic athletic standards in his current state. He’s less than half the player he was 18 months ago, and that’s saying something.
-
Brad Friedel all over again.
-
Building our attacking strategy around Chris Wood when we’ve just signed a forward for £63m. Get in the bin.
-
Trump on election night levels.
-
Joselu suffered from a low goal return here (though better than Wood’s in a lesser side) but grafted his bollocks off as a lone front man. You don’t see that from Wood - he just doesn’t have the sharpness or the legs.
-
He plays a high intensity game. The players are so much fitter, but with that will come minor injuries. The problem will be remedied with a stronger squad.
-
Divvy.
-
We must have had more than 10 corners today with him on the pitch. He might as well have been on knees for all of them. Useless.
-
Bit of an exaggeration that, mind. Everyone knew Obertan and Taylor were atrocious.
-
Significantly inferior to the player of 2 years ago or so at Burnley. I really can’t think of one thing he’s remotely good at.
-
Wood the same as Almiron? You on crack, brah?
-
Loads of effort, no quality whatsoever. None.
-
Just preferred Gayle’s head down attitude. Probably helps that he wasn’t nearly relied upon as much post-2017 compared to Ritchie.
-
Not sure how kicking flags and generally being shit for 4 years makes you a leader.
-
As with Ritchie I hope we never have to see him start for us again. Got to be moving past rubbish like that.
