  1. Obertan and Hatem out wide is probably the best we can do in a horrible 4-4-2.
  2. A lot more sensible than the results of the Pardew poll on here.
  3. Better than Santon apparently.
  4. We need 2, and to get rid of the deadwood. Never happen, though.
  5. We only need one versatile forward who can play across a front 3. 3 players capable of playing in one position is sufficient. That's if we intend on playing a front 3, of course. We don't have 3 players, though. Shola can't start games and is often not in a position to be on the bench, too.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

The West Brom game was a one-off partially due to Hodgson's dreadful attempt to compress the play in that game. Everton played a similar line against us this season, and were punished by it.
  7. I do love Jonas and feel a tad guilty every time I criticise his play. Lovely Jonas. A perfect professional if ever I've seen one.
  8. Good post. When Williamson leaves I'll be a lot happier, though, because it'll probably mean ambition has come from somewhere.
  9. Nah, not having that, like. He used to ping at least one 50 yard+ ball, to the winger/forwards feet, a game. Fire off enough arrows and one of them is going to hit the target. Some major collective amnesia is going on here. Bramble could get some distance on the ball, but that did not make him a good passer. He was a good passer, though. And with both feet.
  10. Bramble was physically and technically very good, and he was an exceptional passer for a CB. Mentally he was the worst of the worst and unfortunately that never got better. Shame.

I alluded to this the other night, but you can tell a mile off that's Bigi's had his footballing education elsewhere. For all Sammy's physical gifts I'm not sure he has the first clue what to do with a football at his feet.

    Good for you. He did.

He's hardly going to blame them is he? He hasn't got the balls to have a go at his senior players because he'll know that he could lose the dressing room that way so he takes the easy option and blames kids. He had a go at Williamson in front of millions on Monday night, like. Don't think he'll have any problem having a go at him.

Revert to type, thats all he does, and his obsession with shoe-horning two lanky strikers in a line-up when he finally decides to play 4-5-1/4-3-3 formations. i.e tonight again, Shola and Ranger. before that, Cisse, Best, Ba, Shola being play outwide..,. why the f*** does he keep doing that? Would Bobby play, shearer, kluivert, Cort, Ferguson, or any big type of strikers out on the wings? Would Keegan play, Shearer, Ferdinand, or Cole out wide??? No. To be fair, when Keegan and Bobby needed wide players they were bought. I remember Kevin Gallagher being bought and played on the wing because we had f*** all else. Then bought Laurent Robert when the funds were available.
  15. Perchy in. no more Willo hoofs and dropping clangers every game. He's starting to worry me in the same ways like the days of Bramble, you're just waiting for that obligatory clanger to be dropped each game by the player, just don't know at what minute of the game it will happen. And if he does happen to have a good game, you just wished he made that clanger early on, so we don't concede one late on like a eqializer or a winning goal by the opposition because of his inevitable cock up. Bramble was an infinitely better player for us. really? Willo that bad? I remember Bramble hoofed it a lot as well. His quality of passing was his best and most consistent attribute imo. It's the main reason Bobby bought him instead of the other CBs he was looking at.

  17. You can't even begin to compare the two as footballers, to be honest.

The players out there are a combination of freebies, extremely raw youngsters, rubbish we can't shift/loan, or a combination of all 3. There's no scope for moulding half of that lot into any philosophy. The Ameobi brothers started the game, for the love of God.
