Well at least the West Ham Chairman can recoup some of the cash he's paid for Dyer by putting him and Bowyer on Pay per View on Saturday Fight Night
-
£6 Million seems like a lot of money to spend on a guy who is going to spend much of his time at the club on the bench, for that reason don't reckon it's Smith

Well if we only had £10m to spend, it seems highly unlikely that BS would spunk £6m of it on Alan Smith when he and Mort have clearly said we need defenders
-
Seems highly unlikely that 10M including wages is all that BS would be given. Taking into account the type of player you need to attract would be commanding wages of 50k plus per year, that alone is 2.5m without transfer fees. Mort has already said Sam would be given cash to spend, so I doubt they would insult him with such a derisory amount of money. We've fallen way behind the leading pack in recent years, and the likes of West Sham, Villa and Man City are spending big in an attempt to at least make up some ground on the top. To only allow Sam to spend a small amount of money would put us even further down the pecking order, and knock a few quid off the price of Ashleys investment to boot. At the same time though, it wouldn't surprise me if Mort has told Sam to flog Dyer as he hasn't given the club value for his 80 odd grand a week. If we can get 5m for him, added to the 5m or so he costs in wages, it's like instantly bringing 10M in

I'm pretty sure there has been mention about improving our worldwide support and making us more of a global brand, surely by having a team that only manages top 8 finishes wouldn't have that much of an international appeal. On top of this, Ashley has made his sportswear business the best in the country so I'm pretty sure his ultimate aim is to put us back in the elite. A consistently successful Newcastle United with an extended ground capacity and extra television coverage would make us more attractive to foreign supporters. If we were to compete up there with Man Utd and Chelsea etc you would likely see Most Newcastle United Merchandise sold in ALL of his Sports World shops, with the possibility of these goods being sold all over the world. Its been made common knowledge the guy is very private but he obviously takes the plaudits for the success of his Sportswear firm, a successful Newcastle United not only makes him more money but gives Sports World a much larger profile all over the world. He never set out to be a middle of the road sports wear retailer, he set out to be the best so why would he settle for a fairly average football club. There are many other clubs he could have bought at a much reduced cost to ours, and still received the same TV revenues etc without the huge ambition that comes with our club. He could have bought a championship club for very little, spent a few quid to get them in the premiership, and spent just enough to keep them there, keeping their supporters relatively happy. I'd say he definitely has aspirations of us doing well

If we hadn't have bought Carr, who would you have liked?

Newcastle to seek an injunction to stop Owen from playing for England

Just the job to keep Owen happy at Newcastle and want to give his all. Way to go Freddy you fckin clown! -
When FFS gets the Season Ticket renewal stats thats likely to be the straw that breaks the camels back, then he might see even the fans want change. The c*** would probably just sack him and bleat on about "top" managers in an attempt to entice everyone back, and like lambs to the slaughter they will come
-
Last season when FFS was looking for a new manager the only name that we seemed to be linked with was O'Neill. If this was the only target proactively sought by Shepherd, who is to know which top manager wouldn't be interested. In terms of resources, potential and fan base etc we have to be the best bet outside of the top 4 for any manager harbouring ambitions of suceeding in the premiership. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that FFS is sounding out the ideas of SBR given he spends so much time sat next to Shepherd at home matches. I also remember that Mancini was quoted in the press last year saying he would be interested, so top managers would likely be interested, it would just remain to be seen whether FFS would give them the time of day.

At the rate he's going he'll have pissed everyone off bar his 3 signings. bit of a job having to sign 8 in the summer so why doesn't he just admit he isn't up to the job and fuck off?

Its quite ironic, anal mentioned something in Tuesdays's Ronny about this. He said that because Tord Grip was at the Arsenal game it was inevitable that the Sven rumours would resurface! Owen's in great shape: RoederApr 10 2007 By Alan Oliver, The Evening Chronicle Glenn Roeder has admitted England striker Michael Owen is close to a comeback. And the Newcastle United boss revealed today that after briefly considering unleashing Owen and Shola Ameobi after their long fights for fitness in tomorrow's reserve game with Manchester United, he decided against it. However, Roeder insisted the £17m man remains firmly on course in his rehabilitation from knee surgery. He said: "With Michael, it is quite simple: the very fact we considered him for a game on Wednesday - and Shola is the same - just shows you how close both of them are to playing. "You can make your own assumptions from that. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT "Michael Owen is world news, not just British news, in football. If I say he is going to play in the middle of next week and he does not, hysteria breaks out that he has had a setback when, for sure, he has not. "All I can say is we are getting very, very close. He is in great shape, he really is. And we can pick up the phone to any local club and get a friendly pretty quickly, within a day." Owen has not played since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in England's World Cup finals clash with Sweden in June last year. And he has managed only 11 appearances and 10 starts for United since his big-money move from Real Madrid in August 2005. But Owen was at St James' Park yesterday - and so too was Sir Bobby Robson - while England boss Steve McClaren was sitting next to Sven-Goran Eriksson's No 2, Tord Grip. However, while Sir Bobby was a guest of Freddy Shepherd, Tord Grip was there at the invitation of Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein, although this will not stop speculation - which will be 100% wrong - that Eriksson is bound for St James' Park.

Maybe thats why the fat one is constantly inviting SBR as his guest to home games in the hope that he can persuade Mourinho to come to the toon hahaha. There's more chance of Roy Keane being the next manager than Mourinho and that's none existent!!

He'll be feeding the poor of Africa next. Yeah free tickets for asylum seekers next year to fill the ground and a free pie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First-half diagnosis? Boring Second-half diagnosis? Boring Full-time diagnosis? Decent Result, Crap game Star man for United? Butt Worst United player? Carr Opposition comment? Contributed the same to the games as us - very little Toon-pros? Clean Sheet Toon-cons? Given/Dyer injuries Post-match feelings? The players are looking to the end of the season by the looks of it, gives most of them time to put their houses on the market in readiness of a move
-
Roeder has also been quoted in the press saying he wants to buy players under 25, brown is 27 so that could blow that one out of the water
-
Thing is, although we might only be 7 points off relegation, it won't happen, too many teams worse than us between bottom 3 and 11th. But if we finish say 15th or 16th which would be our worst ever premiership finish, it should mean the end of Roeder hopefully.

Roy Keane's wife is lost at sea for 5 years and he's elated at her return. "I've so missed making love to you Roy", she says. He says "fine, I must just put in a few conditions though. First of all can we sleep in the spare room because I've spent so long in our bed alone". "Secondly can we sleep with the lights on because its been so dark without you". "Anything else" his wife asks. "Yeah" Roy says, "Can I call you Triggs".
