  1. It's so satisfying he had to be the one who missed the pen ... he's just a big cheating twat
  2. After recently watching the Atletico Madrid v. Valladolid match, someone I'd really like us to take a look at is Ogbeche. Came on as a substitute and REALLY changed the game, scoring the equalising goal in injury time. Basics: Nigerian; 1.77m; 78kg; Forward; still only 23 First of all, this guy is a physical specimen - not that tall, but extremely strong and athletic. His touch and vision are fantastic - he wins the ball in the air, on the ground, AND the 50-50s - and is excellent at bringing in his teammates. Created numerous chances for his teammates that they were unable to take advantage of (Valladolid are crap). From what I've seen, has the ability to score the fantastic goals (equalising goal was a peach), so although he's not yet an efficient scorer (his heading, esp., needs work), he gets to the chances and will really only improve - I can see him easily developing into a 15-20 goal scorer. Think of him as a suped-up Viduka - he has the same or equal intelligence and ability, but is physically way more imposing: faster, stronger, not injury prone and will consistently work much harder than Viduka. Although I'd probably still start Viduka if they were both fit, it would only be because of 1.) Prem. experience, and 2.) current ability to score more goals. Give the kid a year or two under Viduka et al.'s tutelage, and this guy will be an absolute beast. I can see him in both Viduka's current role in our 4-3-3 system or as what Viduka's supposed to be in a more traditional 4-4-2. IMO is a star in the making. Valladolid are lowly in the Spanish league and I'm sure could be tempted into parting with him for the right offer.
  3. The one giant "rumors" thread really wouldn't work - bad idea. Same to the "weekly rumors" one. For organization's sake, I think it's tidier to have the Transfer forum or a make it a sub-forum of the Football one for those who are worried about bookmarks and whatnot. IMO, each player linked/rumored should get a thread for the entire window and any news/"news" regarding that player - whether at the start, middle, or end of the window - should go in that thread. I think this makes it easiest for those interested to keep track of any developments.
  4. Just watched it - another pathetic performance, but it was to be expected tbh. The commentators on Setanta were having a total Liverpool cock suckfest, esp. Martin Fisher. And were ripping continuously on on Enrique. Fucking wankers.
  5. NUFC players in the elephant line
  6. No, we'll stay up ... just ... by a point maybe. Look for the youngsters to give us a little injection of life.
  7. So do we know what's happening with Enrique yet?
  8. The only criticism of Zog is that he's not a fucking left back. The sooner KK realizes that, the better.
  9. Agree that the focus seems to have shifted in how we try to keep a clean sheet (i.e. sit back vs. pressure). I wonder if this approach will be as effective against teams that boot it up to a big man, as opposed to trying to pass it through the team.
  10. Zoggy, no doubt. I think Enrique's been hoofing it up at the orders of BSA. It's the gameplan.
  11. Excellent stuff, arkanoider! And you even made the news, that's brilliant!
  12. Who is the smoking hot girl in your sig? Hold on, I'll just change it so nobody else has to ask.

  14. Which station is it on? On here now... http://radiotime.com/station/s_6844/BBC_Radio_Cleveland_95.0.aspx fuck ... no real player on bloody work pc ...
  15. As long as Duscher is here on a short-term - i.e. 1 year - contract, there really isn't any harm in bringing him in, if that's what SA wants to do. If he's good, we can sign him again next year, or go for someone better if he doesn't want to resign; if he's bad, it's only a 1 year investment. As other have mentioned, we're lacking depth at the moment, and Duscher can only help in that regard. Even if this materializes and we lose the opportunity to sign a younger/better player, I think we would be able to do equally as well, and probably better, next year, in signing a big name/highly promising youngster. For me, there's no need to overpay for a borderline good player this year when we could get a better player for a similar price next year, when our "stature" is better. What we need now is to regroup as a club and focus our energies on moving forward. Since the backline is our biggest problem, I certainly want to see the majority of our spending focused on the back four, big name signing or no. I really think that this upcoming season is one of reconciliation; let's do well in the League this year and make sure we get back into Europe. If the club does that, it raises its public profile and I guarantee more "big name" signings will happen. As much as this club has changed in the past few months, I'm not convinced that all players in Europe know/are convinced that we're headed in the right direction just yet.
  16. I would sell Parker in an instant for 8.5m! I am sure that BSA can find a better DM for cheaper. Barton is not the right solution though - not only is he a nut, he doesn't produce all that much, and certainly not enough to compensate for all the crap he brings to the table.
  17. I definitely think that we would do well with some easy games to get some points on the board to start off the season. Obviously this will give the team confidence (assuming we win and play well) to face some of the tougher challenges. And anyway, given that we will have a whole host of new faces, I wouldn't want our first competitive match to be against one of the big 4.
  18. I think this is the right decision for everybody. He wouldn't (and shouldn't) get a game next year. Having said that, he scored some key goals for us this past season, esp. in Europe, and has worked his butt off, despite his limitations. Will always be good in my book.
  19. Anal is full of shit. Don't believe a word that fucker writes. That being said, Viduka and Ben Haim would both be good signings, IMO. And Dyer to Chelsea ... don't see it happening, but would love to see it come off.
