  1. Bollocks I was there and never heard anything directed at Martins, and I sit with all the asbo yoof in the Gwladys Street. My brother and his mates sit in the Park End (near where the away fans sit) and never heard anything. There was a lot of booing when the pen was being awarded/taken but no way were there any mokey noises. Sour grapes maybe. edit- just read it and it says it happened in the middle of the main stand blueeek.gif I always knew that Kenwright was a bastard. Seriously though, I doubt it's true. It's full of arl gaffs and is deadly silent. If you stand up and shout something about the match people look at you like you're on day release. So unless they saw people getting thrown out/arrested then monkey noises never happened. It's not the sort of thing nufc.com normally throw in their report for a laugh, so i very much doubt it's sour grapes. Emre5 - notice the ' 's
  2. Orignal poster, you're right, it is. But realistically few feel like singing when you're losing. I was particularly subdued yeserday, even 1-0 up, as i felt we had no hope.
  3. Everyone cheered just for no reason really when he was chasing down a ball, dunno about a trick

    He did. Defintitely. Yellow Card.
  5. Again though, difference between that, and Solano? Solano wasn't getting a regular game for us, went to Villa, was excellent for a short while there, then as soon as his beloved Newcastle came in for him, he was off like a shot. I don't think you understand. Solano came to us, therefore it's ok. In fact, it's good.
  6. Always leaving it to the last minute ¬_¬
  7. Not neccessarily, to be fair. You cant always quit as soon as an offer comes. You could say that about bobby when he rejected us.
  8. Shoes off was a piss take and joke about song the came about while we were doing well and in the top 4 under Robson, we are not anymore and we need to get behind the lads at every away game with proper chants now. Do all the shoes off in the world if we win something, but its a pissing about party chant that is not appropriate in the current atmosphere. Surely any singing is getting behind the lads though. I very much doubt the players take much notice of what we're singing, it's just good for them to hear us. And we're not singing about any old crap, it's still about how we love the toon. I find it more interesting than saying "we love newcastle we do" and "we are the geordies...mental, mad etc." over and over. It's orignal too - i've never seen another team do it. I always think it looks impressive when away fans come to st james' and do something different, like swaying in time or whatever, shoes off is different for us. Agree about the liverpool songs, it's boring. "You'll never get a job, sign on". Found it funny first time i went to anfield. Not anymore.
  9. Seriously what is the problem with shoes off? Our songs are getting stale, someone comes up with something a bit different, and it's labelled as charv!

  11. This is what I'd be complaining about. Nothing worse. Whereas, within reason, any noise away is good, and the aforementioned chants are nothing offensive.
  12. I dont see a problem with a bit of stereotypical tongue-in-cheek micky taking
  13. The pen wasnt actually as bad as i expected. Though it was obviously poorly executed, i expected to be an aimless wack-as-hard-as-possible - but the idea was right, just crapply hit.
  14. I doubt it would be like that. Addidas change their design every year, and the lopsided badge thing is this years. Next year will be something new.
  15. Is emre really one of our better players? More gifted yes, but hugely inconsistent.
  16. I agree that Owen and Martins could work well. I'd prefer 4-4-2 though, rather than Dyer in what appears to be a floating role there. Which midfield players would you see (and formation) behind those 3 as you've shown above? I won't bang on about it too much if you suggest Parker, :winking: but just in case I'll have to say immediately that his slow passing ability would be really exposed by those 3 pacey players ahead of him. They'd be offside 9 times out of 10 as Parker begins his second twirl. tbh i really cant decide, that was just a proposal. I'm a fan of parker and would always have him as a starter. However butt has been fantastic recently and when emre's good, he can be a match winner.
  17. Here's the answer to one of his questions: The Arsenal board consistently get it wrong? George Graham (1986-1995): Littlewoods Cup winners 1987 Littlewoods Cup runners up 1988 League Championship 1989 League Championdhip 1991 FA Cup winners 1993 Coca-Cola Cup winners 1993 European Cup-Winners Cup winners 1994 Bruce Rioch (1995-1996): Won nothing, this must be where they "consistently got it wrong." Arsene Wenger (1996-To Date): Do I have to list them? Liverpool from the two managers they appointed. Roy Evans (1994-1998): League Cup 1995 Gerard Houllier (1998-2004): League Cup 2001 & 2003. FA Cup 2001. UEFA Cup 2001. Super Cup 2001. Charity Shield 2001. Apart from Littlewoods Cup winners 1987 Littlewoods Cup runners up 1988 League Championship 1989 League Championdhip 1991 FA Cup winners 1993 Coca-Cola Cup winners 1993 European Cup-Winners Cup winners 1994 and Wenger's honours, he has a point to be fair
  18. I dont think we need big man/ small man. All out pace could work very well i think, and it's what caused us to rip spurs apart at the start. Martins---------Owen ----------Dyer B)
  19. Don't forget Martin Brittain. I think dyer has matured and worked very hard ever since he was hated by the fans for the right midfield thing.
  20. Aye, but in the second half of the season what happens if Martins and Sibierski are injured for a lengthy period? I know, it's a bit of a catch 22. I think the only way everything will work out is if we get a striker that's willing to be back up, a young prospect who can fill in til the end of the season then 'learn' or we just assume that alot of the time 1 of the 3 will be injured so we need 3 quality strikers.
  21. Did you pick that one by the quality of it, or the importance of it. Just wondered. It has to be both. Importance, got us into Europe, where we still are. There has to be quality to put a header past any Chelsea team. I wonder how many headed goals they have conceded since they became champions ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozbuCF5kT6s&mode=related&search= What've headers got to do with anything?
  22. I find roeder's 'denial' hardly convincing. I certainly think he's enquiring. but again, crouch will end up unhappy here. Owen has to start and martins needs to be in the team to improve, plus he's roeder's signing. Martins + Owen upfront FTW.
  23. I cant believe they're even touting crouch as 12mil. Surely he's worth no more than 7. As if roeder would pay more than for martins. I think we are after him though, judging by roeder's 'denial'

Shearer's goal there was so perfect - his last goal, a huge goal, a penalty, just 1 minute after equalising. Bliss.
  25. here here my good man. Most predicted a loss. We narrowly lose, and now all's doom and gloom
