I agree with thread poster. What good manager, or even player soon, will want to come to newcastle with shepherd in charge. Get a new board, then they can change manager if they need to. Replacing manager is a short term solution, replacing the board is the long term solution.

Nah. We're poor, but we wont get relegated. For seasons people have been like this, it wont happen. You can quote me when we're lining up against Crewe

I thought the chants today, though fairly loud, were ineffective. If you want to be taken seriously, do it all game or at the start, not straight after conceding a goal froma corner. It just seems irrational.

Curbishley would never work here. Our fans have no patience, and Curbs will be on like a 10 year plan. And he'll be at west ham first anyway. Shearer will be the next manager i think

People who supported the appointment of Roeder arent to blame, it's the person who did it if anyone. And i still dont see what other options there were by the end. Freddy's never gunna sake roed after all the bother he went to. I'd like roeder to keep a place at the club and get Freddy out.

i didnt hear it at villa but did at man city (souness sacking one). I think stupid songs like shoes off are class.

I found him frustrating today, but you couldnt fault his effort. People were calling him lazy, but i think it's just foriegn stereotyping. People have to remember his age too. Loads of 21 year olds and older get the "he's only young excuse" (rightly) but cos he's £10mil and from inter he seems exempt. this site can be so negative i assumed this was a sarcastic title

I'd rather Lee Clark fkin came out of retirement he's still available to play

one can only hope maybe we can snap up a few of the celebs who play in 'the match'

nothing to get excited about, but im not complaining. adds to midfield's and attack depth, which we were lacking in

i always thought shepherd wasnt a nice guy, but genuinely cared about the club and wasnt afraid to back his manager with cash - seems he hasnt done that this time though i agree with s9 though, i just think surely we could squeeze a defender in.
-
he's old, lazy and hugely inconsistent - sometimes class, but too rarely. if he's free i could accept it - but i'd still be hugely dissipointed we didnt get someone better. rossi is short term, so we want a long term as our other. when he was at leeds id have taken him. he was the closest to shearer around, but now in his 30s, after struggling for a game at boro....

did you ever see luque pulling into space asking for the ball, cos i didnt? luque wasnt interested. an example, perfect ball across the box by duff, and what the hell was luque doing? he shouldve been throwing himself at it. and even greedy midfielders does not give a player bad touch Mate Luque was miles away from that cross...So in other words Duff's cross was inaccurate and that is how he was most of the game last night...His end product was poor... You think Duff would have done better as a lone out and out striker yesterday ? Luque was in no place to recieve the ball, he didnt want it! and yes i do. he may not have great results, but he would make genuine attempts to get the ball and he would actually be able to control a ball. i want luque to succeed, but i cant think of any excuses as the lone striker one simply doesnt account for his apparent lack of football ability. titus looked more like a footballer last night. i believe ive seen luque in every performance but fulham away, and that most certainly was not an off day. an example of a player playing out of position and doing alright. dyer did decent in attack, much better than luque. and again i stress a player should have a good touch wherever he is on the pitch exactly. watch him 'try' to win a header. he was doing exactly what i used to do when i didnt really want to wina header from a big gk kick

i really want to like luque and im not one to get on his back, but in a newcastle shirt he just doesnt have it and he doesnt seem interested. he was very poor AGAIN tonight. people can say he's on his own whatever, but im sorry that's no excuse. you could say that for some things - but that doesnt give a player a bad touch. he just doesnt look like he can control a ball. apart from that he often doesnt look like he wants it - watch him 'try' to wina header, he doesnt try at all he just half-heartedly sticks his head in for show. and he couldnt read duff at all. it really worries me that if shola or martins get injured we're left with him, or worse, both geet injured! bluesigh.gif

imagine shearer v keane on the touchline as managers in a derby hopefuly that wont actually happen cos that would mean keanes done well and kept the job a while
-
im sorry but theres no way the mackems can be happy with that after niall claimed a "world class manager". how can he be classed as world class when he's never done it before - and im not sure he's capable tbh. its lucky for him cos i bet noone else would take him - and he wouldnt have a chance down the road if he wasnt irish.

transfer them. i got rid of rooney ready for the 3 match ban
