Agree it’s not my preferred outcome but it’s hardly a disaster. Would leave us a point ahead of Man City with a game in hand and a point behind Villa also with a game in hand. Not to mention potentially in good positions relative to Chelsea and Forest.

For Manu this has all come from that FA Cup win last year v Man City. They’d have missed out on Europe two years in a row on league performance - now they could have Europa and CL stemming from that cup win. If Coventry had hung on in the semi, they'd have no FA Cup, no Europa League, and no possibility of CL and another cup.

I reckon I was pretty happy with Howe from the start, though maybe not as excited as for Emery. What he did with Bournemouth was clearly a big achievement and never saw the eventual relegation as negating that. However I did start to question him last year when it started to feel like we’d been mediocre for about a year (Nov to Nov).
